Crypto stories, market shifts, and ideas worth unpacking.

Nvidia is one of the greatest trades of our lifetime and Bitcoin still made it look slow. The same $1 ends up around $371 in NVDA vs $76,898 in BTC in this chart. People love calling Bitcoin “too risky,” but sometimes the bigger risk was choosing the safer-looking winner.

If the pitch starts with “you missed Bitcoin in 2012,” they’re selling FOMO before they’re selling a business. Then comes the magic part: AI builds the product, the store, the content, basically everything. Maybe AI e-commerce is a real opportunity. But comparing every new online hustle to early Bitcoin is exactly how people end up buying the dream instead of building the business.

Imagine stealing $230M in crypto and then doing everything possible to make sure nobody misses you. Giving away million-dollar cars after the heist isn’t money laundering. It’s basically sending law enforcement a push notification. The crypto was sophisticated. The opsec was pure cooked.

Crypto has completely broken people’s sense of money. A guy casually points at a mansion in Puerto Rico and goes, “yeah, apparently Ethereum’s co-founder is my neighbor,” like he’s talking about the dude who borrows his lawn mower. Once billionaires become neighborhood trivia, your circle is officially cooked.

“Teaching my 51-year-old mom how to trade” sounds wholesome until the lesson becomes: Green = bullish. Red = bearish. Now follow the best traders and copy whatever they do. That’s not learning to trade. That’s outsourcing the trade to a stranger with a leaderboard. And honestly, that’s probably exactly why copy trading is so easy to sell to beginners.

Everyone assumes AI agents will be bullish for stablecoins. Mizuho thinks they could cut Circle’s reserve revenue by up to 20%. The reason is almost embarrassingly simple: an AI managing your money has little reason to leave it sitting in USDC earning nothing if it can automatically move it into higher-yielding fiat or stablecoin alternatives. AI agents may increase stablecoin usage while making stablecoin issuers fight much harder to keep the money.

Crypto keeps giving AI agents wallets. Ritual is trying to give them something closer to a company. Its new EVM-compatible chain is built so an agent can hold money, keep an onchain identity and private state, access AI models, schedule future work and keep operating without a human restarting the process. That’s a much bigger bet than “AI agents will use crypto.” The endgame is software that can own, spend and keep working for itself.

Bitcoin has the perfect origin story for conspiracy theories. Anonymous creator, disappears forever, never comes back to claim the spotlight. Of course the internet eventually decided the CIA did i

Bitcoin didn’t crash. Leverage did. BTC briefly slipped below $80K, but $404M in longs were liquidated in just four hours, roughly 93% of all liquidations. The market didn’t need a massive move to wipe traders out. It just needed too many people leaning the same way.

He thinks Bitcoin could hit $1,000,000 by 2030 and STILL chooses $132,000 in gold. That sounds insane until you listen to his reasoning. He’s being offered roughly the same amount for retirement: a $132K gold bar or $130K in Bitcoin. He openly admits the upside of BTC is tempting, but says it worries him and takes the asset that has survived for thousands of years instead. Crypto people will call this fear. I think it exposes the difference between maximizing returns and protecting a retirement. A 25-year-old can survive being catastrophically wrong about Bitcoin. Someone approaching retirement may only need to be wrong once. The highest-upside asset is not automatically the smartest asset for every person.

If your investment thesis starts with “I asked GPT what the mascot is,” you are not investing. You are trading attention. This guy traces Remus back to Fomo, finds the mascot connection, checks the app’s growth, spots a November 15 reveal and builds the entire thesis around one idea: more people may discover the same narrative later. No earnings. No discounted cash flows. Barely even a product thesis for the token itself. Just distribution, timing and culture. Traditional investors will call this nonsense. Memecoin traders will call it research. The uncomfortable truth is that both can be right. A token can have almost no fundamental value and still become extremely relevant if enough attention flows toward the story behind it.

Crypto spent years arguing that stablecoins would make banks less relevant. HSBC just launched its own HKD stablecoin inside PayMe, opening it to more than 3.3 million users and payments at 100,000+ merchants. The uncomfortable possibility is that stablecoins win without disrupting banks at all. Banks may simply absorb the best part of crypto.

The most unpopular crypto advice is probably the most useful: keep it under 10% of your portfolio. Crypto people hate hearing this because “conviction” sounds better than risk management. But if one market crash can destroy your entire net worth, you weren’t investing. You were betting everything on being right. The funny part is that boring allocation rules probably keep more people in crypto long enough to actually benefit from the upside than going all-in ever will.

Starknet is considering leaving Ethereum because it thinks Ethereum may become quantum-safe too late. More than 93.5% of voting power just backed research into turning Starknet into an independent post-quantum L1. StarkWare is targeting 2027, while Ethereum’s current target is 2029. The twist is AI. StarkWare says researchers using AI coding agents have already cut the estimated resources for a key step in breaking ECDSA by about 91%. AI is turning quantum risk from a distant crypto problem into a governance decision happening now.

AI just found two critical bugs hiding for over a decade in code that powers roughly 75% of the web. The PHP flaws can allow attackers to execute code remotely without authentication. Governments were already taking websites offline while everyone rushed to patch. That sounds like an incredible win for AI security. Except there’s a much darker second half. The same AI that can find vulnerabilities faster can also help attackers understand and weaponize them faster. Once a patch becomes public, the gap between “bug disclosed” and “mass exploitation” could shrink dramatically. For years cybersecurity was partly protected by how difficult some vulnerabilities were to discover and exploit manually. AI is deleting that friction for both sides. We may have just entered an era where finding the bug is no longer the hard part. Patching the entire internet before someone weaponizes it is.

BitGo says the AI economy needs crypto for micropayments, instant settlement and asset security. Its first live example is much less futuristic: Gokubu, an AI-powered financial assistant built around a card that helps users optimize spending and rewards. That contrast matters. Crypto’s next breakout AI app may not look like crypto at all. The winning product could hide the rails and sell the outcome.

BlackRock is filing for a third Bitcoin ETF while still ignoring XRP, SOL, DOGE and the rest of the crypto market. The new fund is designed to offer IBIT upside with a degree of downside protection, adding another wrapper around a Bitcoin ETF that already holds more than $65B. Wall Street isn’t moving further down the crypto risk curve. It’s finding more ways to sell Bitcoin.

AI is making your face and voice worse proof that you’re actually you. World just launched a banking suite built around Proof of Human, deepfake checks on Zoom and credentials that can even be delegated to AI agents. It says more than 18 million people already hold a Proof of Human. The interesting part: World named Bain Capital, VanEck and others as design partners, but not a single bank actually using it yet. The problem looks real. The adoption still has to prove itself.

This is why people keep coming back to trading. One big win is enough to make a normal paycheck feel painfully slow.
