At a time when some have sought to address the region’s crises through threats, pressure, and imposed dictates, Oman has once again demonstrated that wise statecraft begins with understanding the root of the problem, going to where it lies, and engaging directly with the parties concerned. My highest appreciation goes to His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, who has remained steadfast and unwavering in upholding Oman’s approach: calm without weakness, firmness without noise, and clear diplomatic action that respects the sovereignty of states, the interests of peoples, and freedom of navigation, while pursuing solutions through mutual understanding rather than political coercion. This is how the region is protected: by extinguishing the causes of conflict rather than fueling them; through dialogue rather than dictates; and by addressing problems at their roots rather than creating new crises for which the entire region may ultimately pay the price. May Allah protect Oman and its leadership, and grant its diplomats continued success in safeguarding the security and stability of the region.
