With @sencrop machines costing £400 and lasting only 5 years think I’m switching. Any recommendations for a 4G weather station- only temp and rainfall?!

With no ☔️ in the forecast, input 💰 where they are, 🌱 prices not moving, is no one else 😱

English farmers are now the only farmers in the UK or Europe who are not financially supported in their primary mission to produce our food. This is wrong. In Parliament this morning, I asked the Secretary of State to put this right.

Sink holes opening up on the farm due to lack of rain? Showing all 20cm of soil depth!

In the same situation 😔. Environmental margins 💐in long term stewardship 🦉 along river Welland and hillsides near it providing nesting areas 🪺all due to be ploughed in January 26. Baffled.
We’re in the same boat Tom, heard nothing from @Ruralpay on any hint of roll over, fallow plots for #lapwing, #skylark plots, rare arable flower margins, wild birds food mix, pollen and nectar etc- all under threat of going. 25years of stewardship 🤯

Not too sure about getting more yield with less inputs but currently getting more balloons than t/acre! 🤦🏻‍♂️

The spin to end all spin. @UKLabour celebrates the indefinite suspension of SFI - 8 years in development & the only means for farmers to replace lost EU payments. This feels like scorched earth from Treasury. gov.uk/government/news/recor…

Thank you @LeeBarronMP for coming on farm and talking about the family farm tax and all things sugar beet. Lots of positive comments. Let’s see what happens next.

Good on you Tom. I’ve cancelled my #sewageSludge order today as well. It’s not too late @LeeBarronMP
Just cancelled our #SewageSludge. To be honest, I don’t like letting anyone down, but I think it’s a better protest than blocking roads or upsetting the public. Maybe Sir Kier will smell the dissatisfaction with this stinky tax policy….

A brilliant visual explanation and analysis by farmer and No Farmers, No Food steering group member Charles Goadby @thisfarmlife (with farm Lego!) on the Labour government’s punishment (inheritance tax) on family farms. Please watch and share.

Total own goal by @BASISRegLtd who have built up a good relationship with their members until this. Will have review if it’s worth me carrying on with membership. Shame.
Such a pleasure to be told by a monopoly body such as @BASISRegLtd how happy I should be at a 35% increase in fee, funding aspects I never requested. Doubtless the levy payer will be equally delighted to ultimately pick up the tab… unjustifiable in tone, principle or practice

Project creep continues with no benefit to the producer. No one fighting for the farmer. Expect this to be brought in soon.

Spent every evening this week planning my SFI options. Sit down at the busiest point of the year (great timing DEFRA) and the system can’t cope. How. Flippin. Useless. @JanetHughes @VotePursglove @aliciakearns

If you’ve got any sugar beet futures left to sell you’re a lot better at marketing than me! World sugar prices still around historic highs aren’t they @ARealSugarExprt ?

I would think of leaving Twitter alone but every now and then I stumble across a Tom Clarke 🧵
This bar chart has been getting a fair bit of attention in recent days. Here's a short thread...🧵

Easy to question why the AHDB haven’t been delivering any changes on farm but really happy to see Tom step up and have a go. He says judge him on the results. Good luck- the industry needs a strong AHDB.
Times are tough, things are changing. Now, more than ever, farming needs to come together. Farming needs a team on it's side, fighting it's corner. Judge me on that. @AHDB_Cereals
