I generally don’t talk politics, and this post may be a huge mistake. Republicans lost because the economy sucks and we are at war. People didn’t see the GOP making things better. They made it considerably worse over the last 2 years. If the Democrats want even the slightest chance to hold on to power they need to: * Stop going to war * Fix the economy (right now it is inflation, specifically) * Not make everything about identity politics If they don’t do the three items above over the next 2 years, then don’t expect the presidency. Don’t expect to hold on to power. As for identity politics, stop trying to make everything illegal. Lead by being good people. Be kind. Be compassionate. But don’t add laws to try and force people to bend to your beliefs. No more DEI. No more leading with trans issues. Stop calling people you disagree with nazis. Lead by example and treat others as you wish to be treated. That is less for the politicians and more for the evangelical democrats who have made left wing politics their religion. You’re hurting your interests, not helping them by doing these things. No more war. Fix the economy. Just that. Focus on that. Anyhow, that is my $3.50. Hope I don’t get burned alive for it.

In Matthew 25, Jesus describes true converts as being marked by a peculiar empathy toward the poor, marginalized, and incarcerated. But he describes false coverts as being outwardly religious but marked by a peculiar callousness toward the poor, marginalized, & incarcerated.

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like. yahoo.com/news/articles/let-…

“Calling people a fascist is dangerous, violent rhetoric.” Ok. Here is a compilation of Trump doing precisely that:

We don’t yet know what motivated the person who shot and killed Charlie Kirk, but this kind of despicable violence has no place in our democracy. Michelle and I will be praying for Charlie’s family tonight, especially his wife Erika and their two young children.

A bunch of people angry I blamed rising political violence on our extreme polarization. “No, the problem is THOSE people on the other side!” they yelled. Not sure they realize they’re proving my point. (Yes, political violence happens on both sides in the US.)

Yikes. Trump can’t tell Alaska from Russia — and these are the people steering U.S. foreign policy. This isn’t leadership. It’s cognitive freefall.
🚨MAJOR BREAKING: Karoline Leavitt just confirmed Trump had a mental lapse when he bizarrely claimed he was “going to see Putin in Russia” - while talking about ALASKA. Even his own team is struggling to explain his obvious decline.

Every member of congress who votes for this reconciliation bill will be voting to cut Medicaid coverage and food assistance for hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians. The impact of this vote would be devastating — and it will be on them.

Let’s be clear. As we celebrate July 4th this year, it is not patriotic to throw 16 million Americans off the health care they have. No member of the House who votes today for this disastrous bill should be re-elected.
