Pat Murphy: I hope every young manager and player out there learns from him about how he expresses himself about his team, about being genuine, being honest and a real human.

If the phone does not ring Saturday, it does not mean no. It means not yet, or not them. The 2028 class will be recruited for another eighteen months. One date does not define a player.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto's .183 Opp. AVG this season was the 3rd lowest by a Dodger in the Modern Era (start of 1900), behind only Sandy Koufax's .179 in 1965 and Hideo Nomo's .182 in ‘95!

Dear Parents - At what point in your kids baseball career do you stop asking the Coach about playing time for your son? Little League, Middle School, High School, College? Asking for a Friend.

When I hear a player isn’t playing fall baseball, I genuinely question how much he enjoys playing baseball. And I can’t help but question who’s giving him that advice. If you want to get better at playing baseball, play baseball. A few exceptions: football, arm injury issues, young kids, etc. College baseball players play fall, spring and summer. Again, there’s exceptions, but I’m hearing WAY TOO many stories about kids “taking the fall off to train”. You SHOULD be training and getting stronger AND playing. It’s not an either/or situation.
