Writing a book about the value inside a business forces you to admit how much of it is hard to see from where the owner sits. That’s the idea behind Hidden Multiples, and launching it in a room full of the people who shaped it felt right. The ideas behind this book were shaped by years of conversations with business owners and leadership teams, including many of the people who joined us at the Bellevue Club that night. Founders who built something real and then learned a buyer saw it differently. Leadership teams who realized the business leaned too heavily on one person. I didn’t invent those lessons. I watched people work through them. Thank you for being part of that and for celebrating with us. If you’ve started reading, I’d like to hear what lands for you and what doesn’t.

I'm not giving a talk at Sagecliffe. I'm building with 30 owners and CEOs, laptops open, on their own processes. Nov 9-10. oneaccord.co/ai-workshop

My advice for the weeks before the workshop: pick one process you want gone from your week. Bring it on your laptop. We will build on it. Nov 9-10, limited to 30 people. oneaccord.co/ai-workshop

There's a particular kind of quiet you only get at the top of a run like this. I'll take it every chance I get.

Selling a business is a major decision. Every advisor brings value, but each has different priorities. Make sure someone is focused on protecting your interests and securing the best possible outcome. @theonenicka @jeffrrogers

Strategy offsites go well. The real challenge is keeping things moving six weeks later. By then the urgent work is back, and the priorities everyone agreed on are competing with a full inbox. Nobody decides to abandon the plan. It just stops getting time. What I've seen in companies that actually execute comes down to rhythm: a standing meeting where priorities get reviewed, and a named owner for each one. It's closer to maintenance than inspiration, but a decent strategy with a weekly rhythm will outperform a brilliant one that gets discussed twice a year.

Most common thing I hear from CEOs: "I'm not an AI person." You don't need to be. You need to know where your company loses time and money. That's your job already. Nov 9-10, Quincy WA. 30 people. oneaccord.co/ai-workshop

Illiquid investments are handcuffs when approaching retirement. Make sure you know what you're getting yourself into before doing it. I'd limit it to capital you can afford to retire without, because often it does disappear.

Good frameworks give you structure. Great ones account for the people using them. That's the thinking behind the human side of Aligned, and why it matters as much as the data. Watch the whole conversation on our YouTube.

The best part of a room with 30 owners is not the content. It is the person next to you who already solved the problem you have. Sagecliffe, Nov 9-10. oneaccord.co/ai-workshop

There's no shortage of talk about AI right now. What's harder to find is time set aside to actually build something that works inside your own company. That's what these two days at Sage Cliff are for.  Details and qualifications at oneaccord.co/ai-workshop/

OneAccord has worked with 750+ companies. The pattern: sales is where owners feel the most pain and have the least system. We build an AI sales system at Sagecliffe, Nov 9-10. oneaccord.co/ai-workshop

Leverage is not a tool you buy. It is a process you pick, then build. Sales, ops, finance, retention, hiring: pick one and we'll build it with you. Sagecliffe, Nov 9-10. Limited to 30 people. oneaccord.co/ai-workshop

Finance is where I'd look second. Collections follow-up, month-end reporting, expense review. Boring, repeatable, expensive in hours. We'll work on exactly this at Sagecliffe, Nov 9-10. Limited to 30 people. oneaccord.co/ai-workshop

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Bellevue Club for our Annual Celebration of Partnerships. After 25 years, I still think of this as the most important night on our calendar. The work OneAccord does only happens because clients trust us with decisions that affect their companies and their families, and because partners keep introducing us to the next leader who needs help. Getting everyone in one room to say thank you in person is the least we can do. This year we also celebrated the launch of Hidden Multiples. The book comes from years of working with founders who built real value and couldn’t see how much of it still depended on them. Many of the people in that room helped shape what’s in it, whether they knew it or not. If you took a copy home, I’d like to hear what stays with you once you’ve read it. And if you couldn’t make it, you can find the book here: amazon.com/dp/B0HH96FDYY?lv=… Thanks again. It was a good night.
