Give your agent a way to verify its work. This can dramatically improve the quality of output. With this process in place, Claude Code was able to write 90%+ of its code itself. When generating software at a faster rate than you can review it, the bottleneck shifts to proving that it works. @bcherny and team invested enough in verification, we've been able to move fast while maintaining stability. Code reviews aren't going away, but you need to think of it differently. One human reading through line-by-line is no longer going to work as a gate, it needs to evolve into a multi-layered verification system, built with fast deterministic feedback loops for your agents. This is where e2e tests, feature maps (as @poteto has been advocating), property tests and multi-agent adversarial reviews come in. These all provide opportunities to catch errors early and fix them before things get out of hand. You don't have enough eyeballs for the amount of code being written so your focus needs to be on product intent, risk assessment and evaluating evidence rather than reviewing code. Delegate the code checking work to your automated tests, scale your approvals based on risk, and turn your test failures into living evaluations. This approach helps maintain speed without losing reliability. Let the agents do what they do best and let you focus on what makes you irreplaceable: judgement, direction, and ownership. We tried to capture how we handle code review and verification in this writeup. Hopefully it's helpful.
Claude writes about 90% of Claude Code's code. From June to September, merged PRs more than doubled while the share reverted fell by more than 40%. We wrote about how we changed code review to get there, and how to adopt it: claude.dev/blog/solving-code…

Fascinating mind virus ripping through parts of open source right now. Listen, the code is good or bad whether it was written by math or by mind. Coder or clanker. Merge good code, reject bad code. You don't need a fucking code of conduct or contributor covenant for that!

An alternative to OrbStack: Change this setting in regular Docker Desktop, and that might be enough in your case. I'm just happy that 14 GB of RAM isn't being taken up for nothing anymore and that Docker Desktop can finally reclaim RAM dynamically.

Software engineer is the only career where you can run production systems for a decade… but still get rejected for not memorizing a tree traversal.

Today at H&M, Ernst-August-Platz 2, 30159 Hannover, Germany : - Cashier had nothing to do. - I wanted to buy some new clothes. - He was not allowed to serve me because I wanted to pay by card! - I was FORCED to fold, pack, remove security magnets myself. @hm @Visa @MastercardEU

Nothing against self checkout. People can use them when they like. But by forcing @Visa @MastercardEU paying clients to self checkouts you are discriminating card payers. My shopping experience was ruined by that. No good feeling.

This seems to me like a violation of terms for card payment. Why even incentivise cash payments with better in-person service is totall mind-blowing @hm

Hey @Google explain to me why a German (resident) Google account will have a Google VPN with his Pixel 7 in Cyprus but a Cyprus (resident) Google account with a Pixel 7 will NOT in Cyprus? This is discrimination based on residency inside the EU. I'm furious! @EU_Commission

After updating to Bartender 5.0.52 it makes me think it behaves like malware. Had to completely uninstall it and revoke all permissions (even with commandline) and grant permissions all over again including start-up permission. This is a horrible update for many normal mac users.

Amazing work by @CENTCOM. Why could not Europe @ChairmanEUMC @EU_Commission @Europarl_EN built such a floating pier many weeks ago? The problem of a non existing pier was brought up many months ago by Cyprus.

Just read reviews about Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Seems Snaps are destroying the experience. The App center for end users on desktop is Snap centric and delivers e.g. outdated Gnome apps. @Canonical should finally listen and either do much more maintenance on Snaps or better remove Snap.

I suspect Apple’s real reason for killing PWAs is the realization that competing web browsers could do a vastly better job of supporting PWAs - unlike Safari’s intentionally crippled web functionality - and turn PWAs into legit, untaxed competitors to native apps.

.@PCMag just because I'm browsing your websites from Cyprus does not mean you should switch your sites automatically to Greek! Every browser has a preferred language list, respect HTML/browser standards!

Using chatGPT classic for this reason. The default is awful and takes too long time. I don't understand why they self-sabotage their most famous end-user product in this way.
Anyone else finding the new ChatGPT-4 with browsing to be a major downgrade? Now instead of quickly hallucinating an approximate answer it slowly Googles (sorry, Bings?) the wrong thing and then gives a worse answer
