For 17 years, I’ve watched young Indians walk into TechSparks with nothing but an idea and the courage to chase it.
And every year, they make me believe in India a little more.
I often feel we underestimate what this country is capable of. Then I meet these young founders, hear their stories, and see what they’re building.
India’s future looks exciting because of them. And honestly, I can’t wait to see what they do next. #techsparks

What good are a million dreams if we don’t do enough to help them come true?
Yesterday, I met specially abled children at a school in Patna. The dreams in their eyes and their desire to do something big in life truly moved me.
Many asked for computers for their school. I promised to arrange them from my own side. But we can do so much more.
If you have an idea, a technology or a solution that can make their lives better, please reach out. Let’s work together to turn their dreams into reality.
See you tomorrow at 10 AM at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Science City, Patna. ❤️

She tried to end her life three times. Not because she had vitiligo. But because of how society treated her.
When I heard her story, my heart broke.
As a little girl, she was treated like an untouchable. And it continued as she grew.
Her schoolteacher told her classmates not to go near her. Children distanced themselves from her. Imagine what that does to a little child’s heart.
All because her skin looked different.
But she refused to give up.
She started a food venture. And then something heartbreaking happened.
When she wasn’t around, people happily picked up her food and ate it. But when she was present, they refused to eat.
Same food. Same hands that prepared it. Only her presence changed their minds.
Imagine trying to build something with so much hope, only to be rejected because of how you look.
Eventually, without enough support, she had to shut down her startup.
But here’s what I want you to know about this remarkable woman.
She hasn’t stopped giving. She hasn’t stopped smiling. She hasn’t stopped helping others.
And something she told me moved me deeply.
Today, she is taking care of an elderly woman who was abandoned by her own family because she had vitiligo.
Just think about that.
A woman who was denied love and acceptance for so much of her life is now giving that very love and acceptance to someone else.
How beautiful is that?
She is spreading joy, creating awareness and helping thousands of people, especially those living with vitiligo.
And she has a dream.
She wants to organise a vitiligo conference in Bihar next year.
I told her, let’s make it happen.
And today, I’m asking all of you to join me.
Let’s support her. Let’s stand beside her. Let’s help her build again.
Because nobody should have to fight for the simple dignity of being accepted.
And please remember, vitiligo is not contagious. But prejudice can spread from one person to another.
Look at her smile in this photograph. Look at the joy.
I kept thinking about the little girl who was told nobody should come near her.
And today, here she is, holding my hand, smiling, giving so much love to the world.
I wish the world had been kinder to that little girl.
We cannot change her childhood. But together, we can help change her future.
Bihar, let’s make her dream happen.
And to everyone who has ever been made to feel different, unwanted or less than others:
आप जैसे हैं, बहुत खूबसूरत हैं।
You belong. You matter. And your dreams matter.
Proud of you Nisha Bhagwat. ❤️

He refused to leave his village, his district, his Bihar.
Anshu Kumar, from Katsa village in Amnour block, Saran district, decided to stay back and build.
Today, he is building Paramparagat Consumers Pvt. Ltd., an FMCG consumer brand from Chhapra, Bihar, creating high-quality products while empowering local farmers and taking the produce and traditions of Bihar to a much larger market.
This is exactly the India we want to back.
Shuru Kar is partnering with and investing in Anshu’s venture.
Because you shouldn’t have to leave your hometown to dream big.
See you on 10th October at Gyan Bhavan, Patna.

Every big idea begins with a simple thought: “What if I started?”
But for many young people, the journey stops there not because they lack talent or ambition, but because they don’t know what the first step should be.
That’s why ShuruKar matters. It can turn confusion into clarity, questions into guidance, and ideas into action.
Bihar’s youth have the dreams. What they need is the confidence, direction, and support to begin.
Because sometimes, all it takes to change a life is helping someone take that first step.
Hokar Nidar, Shuru Kar.
Have you ever thought of starting something of your own?
We asked young people from different walks of life. Many had.
Then came the harder question: what’s stopping you?
The answers touched on money, stability, paperwork, finding customers and knowing where to begin. Beneath them was something I’ve heard across Bharat for 18 years: the desire to build is there, but too often people are left to figure out the first step alone.
That is why we’re building ShuruKar: an ecosystem to ask the questions that come with starting up, get guidance, and work out what to do next.
ShuruKar launches on 10 October at Gyan Bhawan, Patna.
If an idea has been on your mind, bring it along. As your Shradha Didi, I want to help you take that first step.

From funding and paperwork to finding customers and knowing where to begin, the gaps are familiar across Bharat.
ShuruKar launches 10 October at Gyan Bhawan, Patna, to help people work through those first steps instead of figuring them out alone.

A Coorg based startup just launched specialty Indian coffee in 400+ coffee shops in Greece and Cyprus.
On International Coffee Day, Indian startup, The Coorg Coffee Club, launched in partnership with Coffee Island, one of Europe's largest specialty coffee retailers, with more than 500 stores globally.
The collection was formally launched by India's Ambassador to Greece, Shri Ravi Shankar.
Every pack carries the estate's name. Scan the QR and the farmer introduces himself.
This is what happens when a local product becomes a local enterprise. The value travels all the way back to the farm and the FARMER.
For me, there is a much bigger India story here.
We have extraordinary raw material in this country - coffee, spices, textiles, fruits, crafts and so much more. Yet too often, much of the value gets created and captured somewhere else.
What happens when we stop selling only the raw material?
When we process it better. Premiumise it. Tell the story of its origin. Build a brand around it. And take it to the world in its best possible form.
Coorg today. Patna, Gaya, Darbhanga tomorrow. That's what ShuruKar is for.
होकर निडर, शुरू कर 🇮🇳
Congratulations to The Coffee Club, Coffee Island, and the growers behind it. @karumbk
Disclosure: I’m an angel investor in The Coorg Coffee Club.

Your first business could become someone else's first job.
Now imagine a million people finding the courage to begin. That is the Bharat I see.
India's next million entrepreneurs are already in our districts and small towns. They have the ideas and the hunger. What they lack is a starting point.
Bharat mein talent ki kami nahi hai. Sahi guidance aur mauke har kisi tak pahunchne chahiye.
For 18 years, through YourStory, I have learnt from people across this country. Bharat bhar se seekha hai. Ab is seekh ko aapke kaam lana hai.
ShuruKar is that commitment. A district level movement that turns local problems into local enterprises, with guidance, mentoring and funding for anyone who wants to begin.
Whether you have an idea and don't know the first step, or a business that isn't growing, there is a place for you here.
And if you have already built something, your experience, your network, or even becoming someone's first customer can help another person begin.
If you've been waiting for someone to say, "Haan, tum bhi kar sakte ho," your Shradha Didi is saying it today. 🙂
ShuruKar launches on 10th October at Gyan Bhawan, Patna.
I will be in Patna from the 7th to the 10th. Come find me.
Bring your idea. Bring your experience. Help someone begin.
Hokar Nidar, Shuru Kar.

Two themes in my WhatsApp feed this afternoon. The first, celebrating the Indian volleyball team's tremendous resilience against Qatar and the mouth watering QF clash against Pakistan.
And the second, pictures from a courtroom where one faction formerly governing the VFI was trying once again to stymie the election process.
This is the miserable story of Indian volleyball governance where for the past two decades, they have been repeatedly banned by the international federation and spent their money and efforts fighting court battles instead of building the game and the national teams.
It's thanks to the Steering Committee and the continued efforts of the FIVB that this current team is able to get the guidance and resources to perform. And think how much more they could have done if those folks had got together for Indian volleyball instead of spending so much money and time in the courts to satisfy their egos.
And you ask why Indians don't do well in sport!

A Chief Minister spending a day listening to students.
This is the kind of India I want to see more of.
13,000 students across India took on real governance problems, and six finalists came forward with their solutions. And then CM @Dev_Fadnavis sat there, listened, questioned and engaged with them with focus and such humility.
What stayed with me was learning that he has been doing this for the last 11 years. That consistency really struck me.
There was something very special about watching young people tell their CM how things could be better, and seeing him genuinely listen.
Maybe this is also why Maharashtra has come this far. Vision matters. And so does giving young people the space to participate.
Loved witnessing this. Kudos to Samagra and Gaurav Goel for making it happen.
We need much more of this across India.
