When gathering data for eucryptoregister.com I often come across duplicate or triplicate entries, but this month France's AMF served up the first ever example of a quintuplicate entry. I even had to go look up the word just to write this.

I've learned quite a lot building a #MiCA 'register of registers'. Here are a few of the quirkiest points from maintaining a database of licensed EU crypto companies: 🧵 👇

It's exactly what you would expect under the circumstances, but it's also why I check everything by hand. Speaking of, this month's EUCR newsletter is in the comments, with a personal note from me at the end.

69 new CASPs this month, and the first time since I started the EU Crypto Register that there have been more new CASP licenses issued than notified whitepapers for other crypto assets.

In any case, there was a lot happening in July, and it's all available in this month's update of all new licenses, authorisations, and notifications. Link in comments below.

I’ve seen a lot of #MiCA posts about which countries have the most CASPs, and how Germany is clearly leading the pack. At eucryptoregister.com we track the issued licenses and cannot argue ; of the 244 CASPs, Germany is responsible for 57 - almost 1/4.

I think these were MVP filings, i.e. the smallest possible permission to allow them to keep handling client orders, while not taking on any of the other compliance and regulatory requirements.

This is the kind of detail you can’t see from country-level totals alone, and it gives an impression not just of the scale of the German banking industry, but also how cautious and rational it is. I’d invite everyone to look past the base numbers and dive into the data!

Trump's #crypto ventures earned him $1.4B in 2025 (his single biggest income source) per a new US ethics disclosure. Two of those tokens ($WLFI, $TRUMP) are also live across Europe. Here's the quirky MiCA rule behind how they got there. 🧵

Doesn't mean these tokens are ‘more legit’; a whitepaper only needs notifying once. But it's a decent signal of strong EU-wide demand, or a deliberate push by the issuer for maximum market access.

Tracking this kind of thing (whitepapers, licenses, authorizations across the EEA) is what the EU Crypto Register is for. Curious what others make of these numbers.
