I enjoyed chatting with Gabriel @InsideCroydon about my journey from the SEND system to Croydon’s Shadow Cabinet. It’s been one hell of a ride. But now it’s about appreciating the support I had from family and most importantly - helping out others! ⬇️ insidecroydon.com/2026/05/27…

In his draft budget, Mayor Perry is considering a reduction of up to £12m to the Council Tax Support Scheme. This could potentially impact 19,000 households. Cllr King, Leader of the Opposition, explains further how it could impact the most vulnerable households in Croydon 🎦⬇️🌹

Useful info for Californians: street homelessness in Britain had almost been completely ended, until the government this guy worked for came to power, then it rose every year they were in office. We still havent recovered from the damage they did.
I’ll END mass homelessness in California by the end of 2027. Here’s how. 📺

This is of huge significance for Croydon. Massive kudos to Labour locally & nationally for championing the vital scheme.
The Croydon Area Remodelling Scheme (CARS) is essential to enable better journeys & unlock greater economic growth in Croydon. The last Tory Govt shelved it 🤯 This Labour Govt has committed to it🌹 More on the matter at last Full Council by our Shadow Cab Member, Cllr Bowell ⬇️

And of course - full kudos to @SadiqKhan and the team for using his trademark political courage to get on and do something about revitalising Oxford Street - not just accepting managed decline or listening to the loudest voices!
I had a free evening after work last night, so went for a bus ride along Oxford Street before it closed to traffic. I think most Londoners agree that Oxford St has seen better days - pedestrianisation brings a great opportunity to revitalise it. Excited to see what comes next!

Calling yourself green yet being opposed to nuclear immediately invalidates your opinions on any other issue for me. How can you be so unserious?
NEW: Scottish Greens members have overwhelmingly rejected plans to support new nuclear power in Scotland The controversial motion would have seen a huge shift in policy & would have left the SNP as the only party opposing new nuclear @ScotNational thenational.scot/news/266680…

Imagine having a meltdown about a 30min Gogglebox appearance for Stand Up to Cancer? 🫣 Completely off the reservation.

Croydon deserves more affordable homes, investment and a thriving town centre - not more obstacles! At last Full Council, we challenged Mayor Perry’s proposal to increase building costs which carry a number of risks that could impede the future of our town centre 🌃🏠🌹 👇🏽 👇🏽

Kemi Badenoch is proving she's only on the side of the very wealthiest. £17 billion of tax cuts for the richest. The Tories have learnt nothing.

"Why do people think of the Greens as a middle class NIMBY party?" I don't see how the Greens can possibly think they're left wing whilst their councillors are spending their time blocking the development of more affordable shops in one of the most expensive areas outside London

You meet people like this all the time in politics. Products of their echo chambers, sneering at anyone who doesn’t share their po-faced, joyless view of the world. The PM went on a show that many people love, it was fun and it raised money for a cancer charity. Good for him.

Andy used a few hours of his own time to raise awareness and money for a cancer charity. Just as Florence is using her own time to appear on LBC to criticise that. By her metric surely she should be at Hackney Town Hall trying to make council services cheaper and better quality?
