VENTURE DEFENSE: The Trump administration is tapping defense tech giant Anduril to build a 2-million-square-foot shipyard outside Baltimore in a $6.6 billion effort to fix one of the Pentagon's most stubborn industrial problems — the U.S. can't build submarines fast enough.
Anduril will invest $3.7 billion of its own capital to construct the facility at Sparrows Point, with the Navy spending up to $2.9 billion purchasing whatever the company successfully produces. The goal: break a production bottleneck that has left shipyards delivering roughly 1.3 Virginia-class attack submarines per year, well short of the Navy's target of two.
The facility is expected to add roughly 9 million labor hours annually — a 15% increase in submarine production capacity — and create more than 14,000 direct and indirect jobs.

After selling his Bentley to buy a Model Y:
“[FSD Supervised] is life-changing.
I was on the phone with my brother last night, and I made him buy one. He literally bought one while we were talking.
I’m buying 10 of my employees a Tesla with FSD. It’s 8x safer than the average driver.

Our Emerging Companies & Growth Quarterly Report found alternative financing played a key role in H1, with growth debt robust but concentrated in fewer, larger deals, as nontraditional investors cluster around the biggest US venture rounds.

The current bottleneck: Transformers/Switchgear.
Trade Idea: Long Hammond (~2.2B CAD / ~$1.5B USD) at 184 CAD.
They dominate the market for:
-Transformers (dry, multi year bottleneck ~23% of market),
-serve to switchgear (2-3Y bottleneck)
-and manufacture liquid too (5Y, larger bottleneck)
I personally anticipate components price hikes like NAND, as $AMZN, $MSFT and others compete for allocation.
You might have seen: “Half of US data center builds have been delayed or canceled, growth limited by shortages of power infrastructure”…
Then you go further:
“To address shortages… Canada, Mexico… became the biggest suppliers of high-power transformers for AI data centers to AI data centers”
Guess who is in Canada (Guelph).. Mexico (Monterrey 3 and 4)… and the US?
Hammond
Then here’s the reason the articles cite why hyperscaler DB buildouts are falling apart:
“Major reason behind these setbacks is the availability of key electrical components — such as transformers, switchgear”.
Institutions are probably looking at Powell, Eaton, and others… but little do they know?
Companies like these actually buy Hammond’s transformers to put inside their own switchgear (“strong sales into data centres, switchgear manufacturers")
Their market share over the transformers market is actually pretty large (eg. ~23% dry).
The most compelling signal:
-> 122% Y/Y 2025 backlog increase. And we can infer this to be 1B+ CAD.
Eg. company achieved 898m CAD in sales in 2025, capacity ceiling. Management said close of Q3 2025 orders were valued at 53% of the entire closing third-quarter backlog.
Given that Q4 2025 revenue was 254 million and the backlog is "more than doubled," we can infer a total backlog value exceeding 1 billion CAD.
Also:
“Gross margin compression last year was due to the buildout of their Mexico facility, but both gross margins are expected to increase and the facility expansions are expectied to turn into accelerated revenue Q2 2026)” which is now.
Downside is if raw material costs (copper, electrical steel) spike again, but given this bottleneck, they can price hike.
Personal FWD P/E estimates would be ~18-21 for 2026, <15 for 2027 from volume ramp.
But I think it’s possible to hit single digit fwd P/E if they do price hikes mixed with hyperscaler emergency orders. But that might get a little mixed with the new acquisition.
Regardless still looks cheap.
Just a TLDR:
$AMZN, $MSFT, $META, $GOOGL, $ORCL datacenter are being bottlenecked because of a lack of transformers/switchgear.
Seems like markets missed this little player with large market share, despite backlog visibility and increasing revenue from capacity expansion coming online.
I personally found it pretty compelling, so I went long.
Just sharing my personal thoughts, of course DYOR before making any decisions yourself.
FSD Supervised is freedom
My dad hasn’t driven a car in 3 years. My benchmark for when Tesla FSD has truly arrived, is if I would feel safe with it driving my father around.
FSD 14.2 clears that benchmark.
He now has the potential to travel to visit his grandkids or visit a grocery store, on his own. Safely.
Now if we can just have the option to automatically park in the handicap spot, it would be absolutely perfect for him.

NEWS: The Nasdaq has officially announced that they are changing their inclusion rules to make it easier for large-cap companies to enter its main index faster.
New changes:
• “Fast Entry” added. Large IPOs can join ~15 trading days after going public (vs 3 months before)
• 10% float minimum removed
• Low-float stocks allowed (with capped weighting)
• Shift to fully quarterly, rank-based rebalances
• Market cap now includes listed + unlisted shares
• These changes take go into effect on May 1, 2026
This means when/if SpaceX IPOs, the company could be added to the Nasdaq 100 as soon as 15 days after it IPOs, potentially triggering tens of billions of dollars of forced buying upon index inclusion.
On the @theallinpod this week, @chamath asked @nvidia CEO Jensen Huang about decentralized AI training, calling our Covenant-72B run "a pretty crazy technical accomplishment."
One correction: it's 72 billion parameters, not four. Trained permissionlessly across 70+ contributors on commodity internet. The largest model ever pre-trained on fully decentralized infrastructure.
Jensen's answer is worth hearing too.
