DuckCon #7 is coming up and we're looking for sponsors.
We have a lineup of 15 speakers, sharing their experiences with DuckDB. For the first time, the talks will also cover DuckLake and Quack, both from the perspective of the builders and the users who solve real problems with the DuckDB stack.
Check out the sponsorship packages on the conference site – link in the thread 🧵.

I'm not very active here anymore, but I made something: swiftuifieldguide.com
I wanted to watch a video with my son in a language he doesn't understand, so I used AI to automatically translate and dub the video.
Check out the sample video (sound on!) and find more details in the blog post!

I keep forgetting that my battery is about to run out, so I made a more prominent battery charge reminder. Not sure if other people have the same problem, but if so, give 🪫 Depleted a try:

New update is out now. It brings improved understanding of monster attacks. The action resolution dialog now has details on saving throws, attack range, weapon grip and more. 🐉⚔️🎲
I handed GPT-4 my iPhone. It texted my wife, managed my reminders and almost bought me new clothes.

This week we improved the ergonomics of the Composable Architecture by erasing some types.
But, thanks to Swift 5.7's new existential opening features, we can still recover static types when necessary, like when checking for equality.

I just made a long-overdue final release of BrightFutures.
The library is complete, it has been for many years. I personally switched to RxSwift many years ago. With async/await, there’s a better choice for everyone.
BrightFutures is end-of-life.

Another insight from Xcode 14 build timeline:
Construct, my 21kloc SwiftUI-based side-project takes 1m25s to build, which is ~1.7x slower than the 150kloc+ mixed Swift/Obj-C project at work.
Is SwiftUI code just that much slower to compile?

Xcode 14 builds our apps ±20% faster! I’ll take it! #WWDC2022
