🚨 SEVERE TRAFFIC CONGESTION ON HEBBAL–GORAGUNTEPALYA–YESHWANTPUR OUTER RING ROAD! 📍 Location: Near Bhadrappa Layout, just before the railway crossing, Bengaluru. A serious traffic bottleneck has developed on the Outer Ring Road towards Goraguntepalya and Yeshwanthpur. Two lanes have reportedly been closed by railway personnel for construction work, leaving only one lane open for traffic. The service road has also reportedly remained closed for nearly three years. ⚠️ The ground reality: ▪️ Traffic congestion has extended across approximately 4 km. ▪️ The main road towards the airport is severely affected. ▪️ Around 50 traffic police personnel are reportedly struggling to manage the congestion and keep traffic moving. ▪️ With most main-road lanes blocked and the service road unavailable, expecting the entire traffic volume to move through a single lane is simply impractical. Important questions for the concerned authorities: 1️⃣ Was a proper traffic management plan approved before closing two lanes of this major arterial road? 2️⃣ Why was construction permitted under these conditions when the service road has reportedly been closed for nearly three years? 3️⃣ Was proper coordination carried out with Bengaluru Traffic Police and the concerned road authorities before commencing the work? URGENT ACTION REQUIRED: ✅ Immediately review the barricading arrangements and lane closures at the construction site. ✅ Senior officials from the Railway Department, Bengaluru Traffic Police and the concerned road authorities should conduct a joint on-site inspection. ✅ Take immediate steps to restore safe and usable service-road access, subject to technical feasibility and safety requirements. ✅ Ensure adequate traffic lanes, advance warning signage, safe diversions and a scientifically planned traffic management system throughout the construction period. The traffic police personnel working on the ground are making every possible effort. However, no amount of policing can effectively resolve congestion when road capacity is drastically reduced without adequate alternative arrangements. This is not merely a traffic inconvenience. It affects thousands of road users, airport-bound commuters and the movement of emergency vehicles.
