Buenas!
I think the answer is his ability to avoid pressure
Joe Milton has played the majority of one game and parts of four others. Across those five appearances, he has attempted 53 passes.
He hasn't taken a single sack on all those pass attempts.
Is that simply a product of good blocking in games that were likely already decided, or is it a sign that his mobility and ability to escape pressure can help him avoid sacks?
With the way this offensive line has struggled, we'll find out quickly. McKee faced constant pressure in his three games, taking 10 sacks.
Milton's ability to avoid that pressure could end up being a huge factor.

Joe Milton en detalle
Joe Milton thread... because why not! 1) He is a fun player to watch. If the Eagles can't be good, they can at least be a bit more fun.
The most obvious thing that stands out is his arm strength. It is pretty absurd. He effortlessly rifles these short/intermediate throws. The ball has such a rare zip to it. He doesn't even need to step into the throw; it's just a flick of the wrist.
I'd expect some dropped passes as players adjust to him! But you can't teach this kind of arm talent. It's pretty rare.

Play the young guys
Eagles IDL Ty Robinson was on the field for three run plays against the Commanders in Week 8.
Washington averaged 2.0 yards per carry.
Eagles IDL Byron Young was on the field for seven run plays against the Commanders in Week 8.
Washington averaged 9.3 yards per carry.
The fact that Young (who is set to be a free agent after this season) continues to play over Robinson (who is in his second year in the NFL) is a joke.
P.S. - The evidence goes far beyond Week 8. The time is now for the Eagles to embrace the youth.
Más de esto quiero ver el domingo contra Giants
Joe Milton had only one start since entering the league in 2024 (Week 18 vs. Buffalo while on the Patriots) and appeared in four games last year during games in which the Cowboys were down multiple scores.
With both New England and Dallas, both playcallers made it a point to move the pocket on PA bootlegs. Can see the effortless arm strength Milton has while throwing on the move.
Espero un playbook más simple y efectivo, usando RPO, play action y más pases de más de 10 yardas, incluso carreras diseñadas para el qb
🚨INSTANT REACTION🚨 The Eagles are making a QB change and starting Joe Milton vs. Giants on Sunday.
Milton is a fascinating player
- He's 6'5'', 235 lbs. with one of the strongest arms in the NFL. An absolute bazooka
- He tied Josh Allen for the fastest throw in NFL Combine history at 62 MPH
- Milton can move and clocked a 4.6 40 yard dash in the pre-draft
- His accuracy is very hit and miss and doesn't always throw with great touch, but he can and will let it rip. Hangs tough in the pocket, too
- With the Eagles run game and OL struggling, his mobility should help out both areas that have been lacking

I’ve been surprised by a few of the reactions that I’ve seen to the Eagles making a QB change.
Were we watching the same QB play and the offense over the last several weeks?
I don’t subscribe to the thought that Tanner McKee was providing this spectacular floor that allowed Philadelphia to properly evaluate everyone else.
McKee was afraid to push the ball downfield, rarely throwing more than 15+ yard in the air.
That won’t be the case with Joe Milton, who may help raise the floor of the offense given his rushing ability behind a struggling offensive line.
Lastly, Milton will be a restricted free agent after this season. So there’s a realistic path to him returning to Philadelphia, unlike McKee.
At 2-6, there’s basically no downside to this move.
