before anyone nitpicks: #MyJourneyToYou is a COSTUME wuxia drama that isn't set in any specific historical period
i js considered it "historical" in a broad, informal sense bc mainstream audiences often use the term to refer to costume dramas
azelili's miscommunication ACTUALLY makes sense given their characterizations because they BOTH have their own burdens to carry
neither exists solely to play the savior for the other, nor is either character's arc reduced to resolving the other's struggles (unlike in tff and hl)
7 episodes and there's no communication except hmmm mmm and to top it of we get an accidental kiss in a ZHU YI drama.
Perhaps the weakest link among Nanwu Universe. It's sad. It's disappointing. #WhenImeetTheMoon
and that DOESN'T make them the weakest link in the nanwu universe! i'd argue they're actually the most well-written of the three because BOTH characters have their own depth and internal conflicts :)
i wonder how drama watchers will react to the fact that fu shize is shamelessly freaky as hell
#WhenIMeetTheMoon
korea: excels in modern dramas, with talented actors and strong storytelling, but often recycles plots and feels stuck in 2016
china: excels in historical and slice-of-life dramas, with unique plots and stunning cinematography, but its modern dramas and acting can be hit-or-miss
why is it so hard for people to comprehend that yun li's timid personality DIDN'T come out of nowhere?
she's socially awkward because of her UPBRINGING! she grew up sheltered and overprotected because her parents believed her disability made her INCAPABLE of being independent!
