Kemi Badenoch just told @bbclaurak that Yellow Submarine is her favourite Beatles song. Another answer few of us saw coming

Perhaps those 21 Conservative MPs sacked for rejecting a no deal Brexit for fear ‘no plan’ was worse than a plan had a point. And were right. Just sayin’. @DavidHenigUK @ProfCaryCooper

BREAKING NEWS: French billionaire Jean-Louis Le Riche and German industrialist Hans-Dietrich Geldmann have agreed to donate 200m Euros to a new campaign to get 🇬🇧 back into the EU after the disaster of Brexit. Happy to announce I will be campaign director. I’m sure @Nigel_Farage @TiceRichard and Co will see absolutely nothing wrong with this at all. Common sense innit? #keepMuskMoneyOutOfOurCountry #TakeBackControl

5 days to go. Remember when senior Conservatives showed they don't understand anything about trade

We are unable to comment on any accusations while there is an ongoing investigation, unless it is into a Labour MP selling a council house.

Nigel has been clear that he wants to destroy our party
He excuses Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine
And he is more focussed on inflammatory rhetoric than delivering for working people
We can’t concede to his style of politics, nor allow him in our party

Disgraceful for Farage to use the word ‘expansionist’ to describe EU.
Expansionism is what happens when you invade another country’s sovereign territory, like Russia did in Ukraine
What happened with collapse of USSR was countries queuing up to join EU and NATO because they wanted same freedom, liberties and democratic rights we enjoy

This is disgusting. And desperate. I have never seen or heard @FredThomasUK “boast” or “bloat”. On the contrary I sense he makes less of his military service than he could. But I also know, as does Mercer, that Fred is restricted in what he can say because he was involved in special forces operations. Mercer is the veterans’ minister and I know from talking to him that he really cares about the issue. But this I’m afraid shows that when the choice is between politics and decency he goes for the personal political advantage even if it means an attack that is as unfair as it is unwarranted. Vote Fred. Sorry Johnny, I’ve kept out of your race because I always got on with you. But this crosses a line by a long way.
Hustings before and after..
One of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve had in public life. My opponent lied throughout. He was then challenged on his claim to have served “in combat” by an 11 tour Veteran, which he could not stand up. I cannot believe I am standing against a real life Walter Mitty in Plymouth. If there is one place you don’t want to lie about your military service, it is this City. Veterans in the room - including one who was sunk in the Falklands - erupted and started to walk out. The hustings was ended.
I respect everyone’s service. Anyone who knows anything about war knows it is all about luck - where you are deployed and when. But the number 1 rule is that you must never lie about it. It’s offensive to those who died.
I cannot believe this individual is trying to propagate such a fraud on the people in Plymouth. It’s not about service; it’s about character and integrity. Mind blown.

Back in the day Tom when #Conservatives were a progressive compassionate centre right party putting the interests of everyone first & foremost. It’s now a hard right wing rump run by a bunch of kids utterly removed from the realities of life for millions of people in the UK

Sharing our story hasn't been easy, but it's important. It's time to bring carers' experiences into the light.

I understand the anger towards Sunak who has damaged the Party almost beyond repair and all but guaranteed the majority of his MPs will lose their job next month.
But it’s hard to muster much sympathy given that none of this would have happened without the complicity of a majority of the Party & what is now unfolding was entirely predictable- indeed predicted.
The hope is that when Sunak disappears off to California in a few weeks there are at least some decent MPs left around which to rebuild 🤞🙏🤞
There is a lot of bad blood among Tory MPs - including from many members of the Cabinet - over Rishi Sunak's unilateral decision to call an early election
Sustaining party discipline will be challenging, especially in marginal seats
Steve Baker's criticism of Rishi Sunak's flagship national service scheme could be a sign of things to come
