We confirm that iOS 16 does communicate with Apple services outside an active VPN tunnel. Worse, it leaks DNS requests. #Apple services that escape the VPN connection include Health, Maps, Wallet. We used @ProtonVPN and #Wireshark. Details in the video: #CyberSecurity #Privacy

Antivirus giant Norton 360 has installed a cryptocurrency mining program on users PCs, but says the service that enables the miner is opt-in. Users report miner is hard to remove. Customer reactions range from unease/disbelief to "dude, where's my crypto?" krebsonsecurity.com/2022/01/…

I'd rather spend $3000 on someone who can use it than wasting it on Twitter ads, so here we go 🎉New Year's Giveaway🍾 I'm giving away a new 🍏MacBook Pro 16" to a random person who retweets this tweet 👩‍🎨 Make something cool w/ it (you have to follow because I want followers)

The biggest luxury you have if you work remotely is not to travel around, it's to actually stay in one place longer and repeatedly go back there and really get to know it. Most people can only visit a place for a week or 2.
Stay in one place for 2-6 months; traveling around is fun but not productive and very tiring in the long run. Also you don't really get to know a place in 2 weeks or even a month.

Dear tech companies, Employees don't need ping pong tables or beer fridges at work. 🙅‍♂️🙅‍♀️ Employees need flexibility to do their best work and enjoy life. For instance, working remotely. 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️ Please offer trust, not toys. 🙌

Boilerplates: For when you don't want to learn the underlying technology, immediately bloat your codebase with 80% unused code and find it impossible to customise literally anything 3 months down the line.

Things that happen in Silicon Valley and also the Soviet Union: - waiting years to receive a car you ordered, to find that it's of poor workmanship and quality - promises of colonizing the solar system while you toil in drudgery day in, day out
