Process is a tool, not a requirement. To unthinkingly follow process is to constantly prioritize the wrong things by default.

Apple’s inability to capitalize on its incredible distribution advantage for personal agents may go down in history as the greatest commercial failure of the era.
Siri is still bad, like really really bad. I opened an email with my Uber Eats confirmation, there was a live activity on the screen with progress, and I pulled down and asked Siri "what did I order for lunch?" And it thought for like 2 minutes and then said it doesn't know. 🤦‍♂️ Okay so the harness and models are clearly bad. Well, then next I opened up the Siri GUI app on macOS and HOLY. It's the worst looking, beginner, basic bitch app I've ever seen. Did someone spend more than 5 minutes on this? Whoever worked on this app along with the full chain of people who checked off on this needs to be terminated immediately. This is 0/10 terrible software, so embarrassed for Apple to ship this.

Github conversations are now an absolute trash heap of bot traffic. This is an existential threat to Github.

The new definition of first world problems: Was using an agent to build my custom coding agent harness last night at soccer practice and accidentally ate my full month's data plan by downloading ollama local model via my hotspot.

I think most people multi-tasking with agents could benefit from slowing down most of the stuff you're doing wont really matter- what's your P0? what would it look like if you gave it your full attention?

At this point, the primary friction that limits agent output isn't a skill problem, it's the antagonistic environments where they're forced to operate. Authentication being the primary constraint.

The new atomic unit of work is the cloud agent session.

Is the @IRSnews ready for agent slop season next April? Agents standing in the gap between: - Govt: Tell us what you owe us and pay up - Govt: We know what you owe us If we take the human out of the loop, the agents just output the government's definition of what we owe them and just send it right back to them. The perfect ouroboros of bureaucracy.

i love writing. i never let agents write for me. whether it's docs, or tweets, or shitposts, or even prompts (okay maybe that one's harder as agents manage other agents) there's a simple reason for that: i still strongly believe that writing is thinking. it's a skill i hope to never give up. it's also important to me that whatever i say is always authentic, mistakes and all. my favorite posts are the ones that i just full send without any editing i suspect it also helps with prompting. being able to clearly express what i want, and knowing the vocabulary i need to be able to direct my agents does seem to make for more effective usage of agents. in the same way that engineers have an advantage when we prompt agents to write code, because we are intimately familiar with the words that make up the discipline knowing the right word incantations to get an agent to produce a desired goal almost feels like spellcasting. as models get more capable, and that input box looks more and more like a magic box that can output anything, words become the interface between you and the genie there may come a time when we give up the keyboard in exchange for brain-computer interfaces. but until then, i'm writing every word.
