Yeah, bro. It's a great game. But after 65 hours*, it get REALLY good. Trust me.
*(time inflated because I left the game running AFK a few times, but it's substantial)
Holy cow. @Jonathan_Blow is a genius! Everyone at @Thekla_inc is the GOAT!
I just had to move that mirror to see what happened right before bed. 🤯
Sorry, Braid. Sorry, The Witness. Sorry, Ocarina of Time. Y'all are dropping by one in the rankings.
And I'm only through a third of the game?!?
Thank you, @Jonathan_Blow
Thank you, @mvandevander
Thank you, everyone whose X handles I don't know @Thekla_inc
Thank you for this amazing game. What a thing of beauty, delight, craftsmanship, and richness. Truly a privilege to play through something this amazing.

An update on building games with Claude Code:
Last week some of you ran into Claude Code pushing back on game projects it should have just built. We'd added a short rule to the Opus 5.5 prompt to steer Claude away from recreating specific existing games, but it was also kicking in when you referenced one just to describe the mechanics you wanted.
We've updated that rule in 2.1.317. You can name a game to describe what you want and Claude should now build an original game in that genre. If you ask for a copy of the original, it'll offer to build something similar instead.
We want Claude to be as helpful as possible when you're building something original, but also to protect your work if someone else tries to copy it. We'll keep improving this, so let us know if Claude turns down work that's yours. Thanks to everyone who shared feedback!

Hex is wonderful. The best part is the text appears instantly where as Handy took an annoying amount of time pasting the text into the input.
hex was fully vibe coded. the app. the landing page. the animations. sound effects were ai generated. issues people open are fixed by opencode. the onboarding. even some of the creative ideas
but i think it's pretty good software. it's fun to use. works on all platforms. performant (not electron!)
our effort didn't go into the code. but there was a lot of effort
it's a small app but i hope it improves your outlook on where we can go

A truly impressive example of well-applied AI in gamedev. The key is to never use AI as a replacement for your own creativity.
Take it from someone who spent YEARS building tools (tools that could be created in less than a week today) YEARS that could have used to just doing art.
AI helps to handcraft my game.
People asked to see more of my design process, so here’s me building a secret room for Ladder Knight.
AI takes care of the routine work, so I get to spend my time on pure design. I place every tile, build every puzzle and hide every secret myself. Then I play it, change things and try again until it feels right.
Ask AI to design the whole level, though, or even a single room, and the result is very bad. All the pieces are there, but it’s just not fun to play.
Making it fun is why I make games in the first place. I’m happy that part is still on me.
How on earth can their economy sustain this?
Yes, majority of my Dutch friends are "burn out"
You get 1 year of FREE fully paid salary and then another year of 70% FREE fully paid salary and you can just sit at home and chill!
You have to keep "appearances" up though because you might get snitched, so on Facetime with friends you do this schtick:
"It's all too much for me"
"I'm so tired"
"I don't think I can go back to work yet"
Meanwhile it's partyyyyyyyy time chilling at home with Netflix and popcorn
Welcome to European social welfare in 2026 😂

I still can’t wrap my head around why [land of the free] USA gives us finger-wagging, censored models, and [great firewall of] China gives us free, open-weight, do-what-ever-you-want local intelligence

We got permission from @AnthropicAI !
Let’s gooooo! Can’t believe it took Anthropic this long. So glad they aren’t being evil any more. I might even become a fan.
The X algo keeps surfacing job postings for India. I'm in the US of A, X! How is it 2026, and I can't fine tune my algorithm? "I'm not interested" doesn't cut it. I should be able to point @bot at my X algo and tune it to my heart's content.
FYI, DM me if you want all your things to get better.
