Discipleship is not a program, nor a curriculum. It's much simpler & more personal. Jesus modeled discipleship by example.
Paul also followed Jesus & His model.
So, do we choose to follow what is popular or follow Jesus?

In America, we prize our individualism, as if it were sacred. We wear it as a badge of honor. But our commitment to individualistic expression is at odds with the call of Jesus to follow HIm...

Consider what is most important to you. My family is my most valuable living legacy on earth. People I’ve been privileged to lead, disciple, & serve are the next most important... That kind of investment is invaluable...

The church is a community of believers following Jesus, both individually & corporately. This is the heart of discipleship.

It's easy to get so focused on ourselves that we can't see what's going on around us. Focusing on ourselves also blinds us to the needs of others. The disciples of Jesus had this problem, as we do today.

Have we become followers of what’s popular rather than Jesus?
Are we any different from Israel during the days of the kings & prophets?

When our life's priorities center on ourselves, they become selfish & limited. When our priority is God’s, we’ll be free from the worry of what we’ll eat, drink, or wear. What's the focus of your life’s priorities?
