Per @tloving138 Bowling Green–Warren County Drug Task Force Dismantles Illegal Marijuana Vape Manufacturing Operation
The Bowling Green–Warren County Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Kentucky State Police Interdiction Team, arrested four individuals following an eight-week investigation into an illegal marijuana vape manufacturing operation being conducted in unsanitary and non-sterile conditions inside a residential garage yesterday, September 1, 2026
Arrested:
•Javon E. Mitchell, 24, of 1250 Peachtree Lane, Bowling Green, KY
•Dayshawn M. Mitchell, 27, of 1407 Calgary Way, Bowling Green, KY
•Savyon O. Howard, 24, of 614 Kirtley Way, Bowling Green, KY
•George D. Murray, 56, of 1309 Scottsville Road, Bowling Green, KY
All four individuals were charged with:
1Trafficking in Marijuana, over 5 pounds, Class C Felony — Gun Enhancement
2Engaging in Organized Crime
Following an eight-week investigation and surveillance operation, detectives established probable cause to obtain a search warrant for a residence located at 1407 Calgary Way in northern Warren County.
When detectives arrived to execute the search warrant, the occupants refused to open the door, and officers made a forcible entry into the residence. Once the residence was secured, the occupants offered no resistance and were taken into custody.
During the search, detectives discovered a clandestine marijuana vape manufacturing operation being conducted inside the garage. Investigators located marijuana vape products and evidence
indicating that the products were being manufactured and processed in unsanitary, non-sterile conditions not suitable for the production of a consumer product.
This is the first marijuana vape manufacturing operation of this type encountered by the Bowling Green - Warren County Drug Task Force in it’s 29 year history.
Investigators are particularly concerned about the potential impact of illegally manufactured marijuana vape products on high school students and young adults, who are frequently targeted by illicit vape and marijuana product distribution.
This investigation highlights the dangers associated with illegal drug manufacturing operations being conducted inside residential properties. “These products are manufactured outside of any legitimate regulatory or safety standards, creating additional risks for the individuals who ultimately consume them.”
All accused were lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
During the execution of the search warrant, Detectives and Troopers located and seized 2,146 illegally manufactured marijuana vape products, hundreds of commercial appearing packaging boxes for the vapes, more than two gallons of liquid marijuana extract, which investigators estimate to be the equivalent of approximately 10 pounds of marijuana, 48 oxycodone tablets, two handguns, one shotgun, and $3,489 in cash. A 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee was also seized in connection with the investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are possible.

New research finds THC edibles can impair driving for hours, with greater impairment at higher doses.
The problem: states have normalized and commercialized these products while law enforcement still lacks a reliable roadside measure of marijuana impairment.
Legalization moved faster than the science... again.
