During this afternoon's remarks, while rattling off their "accomplishments", any mention of pardoning Ross Ulbricht was avoided.
While pointing out how the Biden administration went after "developers", Trump motioned toward the c-suite executives standing around him, not the brilliant minds locked behind bars.
While patting themselves on the back for "ending the war on crypto", Bill & Keonne waste away in prison cells, Roman Storm is actively fighting a retrial with the DOJ, and many others like Ian Freeman & Roman Sterlingov have been silenced & locked away for years.
Everyone at this meeting is a complete clown, including Trump. I'm sick of pretending that being uncritical of this administration is going to somehow get my friends pardoned. These guys are all snakes and they deserve the criticism, they'll only ever serve themselves and will never set right the damages inflicted by the Biden administration.

I am writing from FPC Morgantown prison in West Virginia. It has been about 5 months since I first surrendered myself in December, and I will be honest, the prospect of a Presidential pardon is very low. There was some hope during the Bitcoin 2026 conference, but that has now come and gone, and one must come to terms with the fact that I am simply a federal prisoner without money, power, or influence, and I will serve my full sentence. It will be years before I can even attempt to rebuild my life. Which is why I am now writing this appeal to you all now. Things are dire and we need your help.
Lauren and I need your help desperately. More than ever before. We have over $2 Million of debt due to legal fees. We have a $250k fine the judge levied against us. Every day I get letters and calls from anxious lawyers looking to be paid. Or the DOJ demanding I start making payments on my fine. Perhaps it was denial or delusion, but I had hoped to do what I have always done and dig myself out of this hole myself - but with the reality of serving a full sentence that is not possible. I hate to ask for your help in this way but we are entirely out of options. We need to pay off these legal bills and other debts accrued attempting to defend myself. We desperately need your help. For 10 years Bill and I built and published open source code and tools for Bitcoin users. Those same tools and code are what the government says were criminal. The tools and code still exist, they are out there right now and always will be. The creators however are locked away in Federal prison. The creators are the ones whose lives have been decimated. We have a better idea. Maximize market forces by letting people use their own money in a tax efficient way to buy healthcare services instead of relying upon health insurance plans to buy their healthcare services. There will always be perverse incentives, oligopoly behaviors, and profit maximizing strategies if you let health insurance plans dictate healthcare prices.

Right now there are a lot of new eyes on Signal, and not all of them are familiar with secure messaging and its nuances. Which means there’s misinfo flying around that might drive people away from Signal and private communications.
One piece of misinfo we need to address is the claim that there are ‘vulnerabilities’ in Signal. This isn’t accurate. Reporting on a Pentagon advisory memo appears to be at the heart of the misunderstanding: npr.org/2025/03/25/nx-s1-533…. The memo used the term ‘vulnerability’ in relation to Signal—but it had nothing to do with Signal’s core tech. It was warning against phishing scams targeting Signal users.
Phishing isn’t new, and it’s not a flaw in our encryption or any of Signal’s underlying technology. Phishing attacks are a constant threat for popular apps and websites.
In order to help protect people from falling victim to sophisticated phishing attacks, Signal introduced new user flows and in-app warnings. This work has been completed for some time and is unrelated to any current events. For those who don't understand what Chevron Deference is, and why SCOTUS ended it, here's the long and short of it:
A family fishing company, Loper Bright Enterprises, was being driven out of business, because they couldn't afford the $700 per day they were being charged by the National Marine Fisheries Service to monitor their company.
The thing is, federal law doesn't authorize NMFS to charge businesses for this. They just decided to start doing it in 2013.
Why did they think they could away with just charging people without any legal authorization?
Because in 1984, in the Chevron decision, the Supreme Court decided that regulatory agencies were the "experts" in their field, and the courts should just defer to their "interpretation" of the law.
So for the past 40 years, federal agencies have been able to "interpret" laws to mean whatever they want, and the courts had to just go with it.
It was called Chevron Deference, and it put bureaucrats in charge of the country.
It's how the OHSA was able to decide that everyone who worked for a large company had to get the jab, or be fired.
No law gave them that authority, they just made it up.
It's how the ATF was able to decide a piece of plastic was a "machine gun".
It's how the NCRS was able to decide that a small puddle was a "protected wetlands".
It's how out-of-control agencies have been able to create rules out of thin air, and force you to comply, and the courts had to simply defer to them, because they were the "experts".
Imagine if your local police could just arrest you, for any reason, and no judge or jury was allowed to determine if you'd actually committed a crime or not. Just off to jail you go.
That's what Chevron Deference was.
It was not only blatantly unconstitutional, it caused immeasurable harm to everyone.
Thankfully, it's now gone.
We haven't even begun to feel the effects of this decision in the courts. It will be used, for years to come, to roll back federal agencies, and we'll all be better of for it.
And that's why politicians and corporate media are freaking out about it.

Julian Assange is free. He left Belmarsh maximum security prison on the morning of 24 June, after having spent 1901 days there. He was granted bail by the High Court in London and was released at Stansted airport during the afternoon, where he boarded a plane and departed the UK.
This is the result of a global campaign that spanned grass-roots organisers, press freedom campaigners, legislators and leaders from across the political spectrum, all the way to the United Nations. This created the space for a long period of negotiations with the US Department of Justice, leading to a deal that has not yet been formally finalised. We will provide more information as soon as possible.
After more than five years in a 2x3 metre cell, isolated 23 hours a day, he will soon reunite with his wife Stella Assange, and their children, who have only known their father from behind bars.
WikiLeaks published groundbreaking stories of government corruption and human rights abuses, holding the powerful accountable for their actions. As editor-in-chief, Julian paid severely for these principles, and for the people's right to know.
As he returns to Australia, we thank all who stood by us, fought for us, and remained utterly committed in the fight for his freedom.
Julian's freedom is our freedom.
