Replying to @bricksilk
If the Bill comes back it will face cross-party determination, spanning the old #Brexit divide, not to cede parliament’s control of our laws to the executive. This crossbench amendment has Lab/LD support and is signed by an ex-Tory Chief Whip and a v strong Brexiteer.

It’s the way he tells them… Sunak thanks his predecessors for “laying the groundwork” to his deal. All eyes on Boris Johnson’s usual seat. “Where is he?” ask Labour MPs.

Indeed. The thing Boris Johnson is objecting to was negotiated and heralded as a great deal by Boris Johnson.
‘The deal, expected to be announced this week, will make the ECJ the ultimate arbiter of disputes about EU law that emerge from Northern Ireland’. Except the ECJ already is the ultimate arbiter of such disputes….. telegraph.co.uk/politics/202…

From @tobyhelm and I in this week's @ObserverUK - even Brexiteers are saying the EU Retained Law Bill needs changing as it currently puts loads of our important laws at risk and would overwhelm civil servants with work theguardian.com/law/2022/nov…

The reason we are having an explosion of small boats is after #brexit the Dublin convention no longer applies. Under that convention we could return any migrants back to France. Once we left that no longer applied meaning less control of our borders not more. #projectreality

If it embarrasses Sunak into reversing his disgraceful decision not to attend #COP27, it might just be the first decision of Boris Johnson that deserves applause - even if it’s motivated more by self publicity than planetary survival theguardian.com/politics/202…
