The annual Bloomberg electric vehicle report is now out. The average percent of EV sales globally is 26%, so if your country is below that your country is falling behind. Canada got up to about 18% last year, the government target is 20% by next year, so we can see Canada is behind the average and has a target for some improvement that is still below average sales globally. The expected return of federal EV incentives may help, but the increased price of EVs due to tariffs hurts progress. We are too dependent on the USA for our EV supply, and they have an anti-EV, pro fossil fuel, anti environment political bias, from top government currently. Surveys show Canadian’s want the excessive hundred percent tariffs removed from Chinese EVs so we can get access to a competitive product.
