Agree on 1 and 2. Disagree on 3. Ppl mostly attacking octopus for 2 is not surprising though.
Everyone hates it when I point out that - systematic trading is hard - you can’t prompt your way to a profitable strategy unless you already know what you’re doing - most people capable of making a success of it for their own account would do much better getting a job at a good trading firm instead But this is literally the highest value thing I do in this site. Every person who takes my advice is hundreds of hours and tens of thousands of dollars saved!

One thing that Quant industry has done really really well is that almost all of the public material / info on trading is practically blind leading the blind, and the few gists that are useful in asset pricing and well established for decades, no one really gives a fuck.
Replying to @dmartin_trading
You are wasting your time and money getting an LLM to grind out stats on absolute rubbish. Measuring ATR and ranges and breakouts is not an edge. If you really want to make it in quant trading you need to upskill in math and stats and get a job at a firm who will teach you what an edge is.

“Oh u read that off twitter and/ or claude?” *physically walk away*
What’s a polite way to tell someone, “I’m not discussing this with you because your entire understanding of the subject is built on so many interconnected misconceptions that correcting them would require uninstalling your current worldview and starting the tutorial from birth”?

Up until this point, we were only logging data from activity that occured on our website, or from the contacts between customers and the sales reps. Then one day I learned about data brokers, and realized there was a lot of data on these customers that was external to my website. When a customer first entered our sales funnel, we took the identifiers they voluntarily gave us and we ran them through a number of data broker APIs to dig up as much info on them as possible: Household income Credit Score Gender Age Ethnic group Martial status Own or rent Occupation Education Length of year at residence Home equity Children in the home Age of children Est net worth Home value Auto year make model Home market value ...and much much more. Keep in mind this is totally legal up to this point. All we had to do is add a couple sentences to our privacy policy that no one ever reads. It cost like 10 cents per customer to find all this stuff out. Now all of a sudden we had some external data to add to the algo, but of course I didn't stop there. I realized I could go the other way and set up a custom exclusion list, based on a loss function. Being able to predict who would buy also gave us the ability to predict who wouldn't! We set up an automation to add those people to an exclusion list so we wouldn't waste any more money serving them ads. At this point it starts getting into a grey area legally, and is definitely against metas terms of service. Then I took it another step which was definitely not legal 😂, because why not. We started paying remote workers overseas to create a database of all the people who liked or commented on our ads. People who never went on our website or agreed to our privacy policy. Then we used a different set of data brokers to unmask and identify these Facebook and Instagram handles. Once we linked a handle to a real name and email address, we had another automation that would send them to the first set of data brokers to create a financial profile on them. So about 20 seconds after they liked one of our videos the system would come back with a predictive score to determine how likely they were to afford what we were selling and if they couldn't, the system would automatically add them to an exclusion list.

We're thrilled to announce the Superpower Peptide Library. Every peptide, mapped to the body. 152 peptides, from approved drugs to compounds still in trials, sorted by where they act. Each one has its own page, reviewed by a physician and fully cited, covering: - the evidence and how strong it is - its FDA status - it's mechanism of action - what studies in humans have found Because not all peptides are equal. Semaglutide is FDA-approved. BPC-157, maybe the most talked-about peptide for recovery and repair, is not. In a 2025 review of its research, 35 of 36 studies were in animals or the lab. Know the science before you buy the hype. Check it out here: superpower.com/guides/peptid…

Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

Anyone been predicting this for 67 months? Almost 6 years and people still in denial… 🙄
It's official. US CPI inflation has now been above the Fed's 2% target for 67 consecutive months. The last time inflation was below 2% in the US was in January 2021, amid a global economic lockdown. Over this period, the value of the US Dollar has declined by -22.5%. In other words, it now costs $129 to purchase the same goods and services that cost $100 in 2021. Compounding inflation has become the new norm in the US. Asset owners are the only winners.

Found a @solana arbitrage bot making ~$52k/day over 34 days :) → Live since Sep 4, running its own on chain program → ~23k txs/day; ~60% revert as it rejects unprofitable trades → 15,616 SOL (~$1.76M) swept to its payout wallet in 34 days Axiom shows $11M profit in 30 days I traced the on chain money flow: closer to ~$1.6M over that same period

Asia's most livable cities, at $86K/y foreign income, at local tax rates. And here's the explanation of why everyone went to Asia
Europe's most livable cities, at median local salaries and cost of life, after tax. Vienna is always at the top, one way or another
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The chart's "most livable cities" rankings and quality-of-life data rely on Numbeo, a crowdsourced site where anyone can submit or alter entries; it carries explicit disclaimers on accuracy and has been widely criticized by experts and media as unreliable. numbeo.com/common/terms_o… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numbeo tf1info.fr/justice-faits-…
