Thank you Manizha Talash for your bravery and for using your moment to turn the world’s eyes back towards the systematic oppression & domination of Afghan women. As we approach 3 years of the Taliban take over, the imperative to #endgenderapartheid could not be more important.
The Olympic is over but the Taliban's Human Rights abuses aren't. Pay attention to what is happening to women's rights in #Afghanistan @hrw. Sports are still forbidden for women & girls. @iocmedia @Paris2024 @RefugeesOlympic Statement by Manizha Talash!

We are deeply disturbed by the arbitrary arrest and forced disappearance of Woman Human Rights Defender (#WHRD), Namatai Kwekweza @namataik_ who was forcibly removed from a plane by state security agents this afternoon. Namatai's dedication to #HumanRights and justice is commendable, and her abrupt detention raises serious concerns about the respect for fundamental freedoms in #Zimbabwe. We urgently call for her immediate release and a thorough investigation into her whereabouts, safety, and well-being. The protection of #WHRDs is essential for upholding democracy and human rights for all. #ReleaseNamatai #SafeguardingWHRDs @weleadteam @MaryLawlorhrds @Ginitastar @SADC_News @_AfricanUnion @amnesty @HRF @FordFoundation @KofiAnnanFdn @AfricaDefenders @africanngos @OsloFF @UN @JusticeDefend @vanyaradzayi @achpr_cadhp @TamukaKagoro77 @wlsazw @advocatemahere

Our new @amnesty's report on #Sudan documents how recently manufactured foreign weapons have been transferred into and around Sudan, often in flagrant breach of the existing Darfur arms embargo. We found that recently manufactured or recently transferred weapons and ammunition from countries including China, Russia, Serbia, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Yemen are being imported in large quantities into Sudan, and then in some cases diverted into Darfur. On 21 January 2023, Thulani Maseko was killed by unknown gunmen in his home, in Eswatini. Despite regional & international calls for an independent & impartial investigation into the unlawful killing, Thulani's family & community remain far from attaining justice for him.
