I hear all the time ‘I’m not doing what I was expecting to be doing as a physician’
So in addition to hard work, the suits are making the scrubs do a bunch of useless meaningless busywork. It’s not helping our patients and it’s driving physicians out of medicine.
Gut the glut.
-Start with mandatory #MOC
After so many years of education were highly capable at figuring out what we need to keep on helping our patients .
-Get rid of MIPS.

This will be their funeral. Causes of action when a patient is harmed by an unsupervised midlevel- negligent hiring and retention, negligent supervision, vicarious liability to the NPs employer, possibly fraud if the patient does not understand the provider is not an physician.

Here are some of the many law firms suing @AHIPCoverage @txhealthplans member @UHC @Optum @change_hc in case any patients are concerned about damages from their data loss or physicians or that have been harmed by delayed claims while using Change for a clearinghouse. Obviously not an endorsement, but for informational purposes only.

Agree 100%. These plans need to be held criminally liable for delaying care.
Here’s the dirty secret of emergency medicine:
We don’t have to do prior auth. Like ever. We just order what the patient needs, and the patient gets it done in the ED.
But here’s why we care about prior auth anyways:
B/c not a shift goes by where a patient doesn’t land in the ER as a last resort when #priorauth denied or delayed them the outpatient care they needed.

Big thank you to the @ahahospitals for stepping up & asking the @USDOL to conduct an investigation of @MultiPlan_Inc @UHC “little bro” @Cigna @Aetna where their collective fees for administrative #ERISA plans greatly exceeded the clinicians & hospital’s reimbursements from these plans while increased costs are passed to employers & patients. Let’s encourage the @AmerMedicalAssn and stakeholder specialty societies to step up as well. @ACEPNow @EDPMA @RadiologyACR @ASALifeline @ChrisDHamby @NYTHealth @mcuban – at Greensboro, NC

17 yr hospital CEO in #CT is taking off the gloves vs. #MedicareAdvantage. The hospital’s Advantage denials are nearly 14% > than Medicare A & B FFS, so he laid off 60 folks from his hospital. There have been multiple posts here & elsewhere showing Advantage denials are out of control. beckershospitalreview.com/fi… – at Greensboro, NC

Maybe a venture with @TakeMedBack and @mcuban for TPAs. Eliminate the @UHC giants who have explored this market. Let patients receive care by competent physicians and pay lower premiums, and employers keep their money. Cut out the fat middleman and physicians, take medicine back!
My PSA—Hello @mcuban—since you are dunking the pharma industry (based on your profile) why don’t you do the same for the “third party administrator” (TPA) industry as well? You could dominate the TPA industry inside of 3 years. Offer fair contract rates to physicians, hospitals & other clinicians, charge your cost + % and pass the savings onto employers. Last I checked there are 120-130M ERISA plan beneficiaries. The health plans will despise you like pharma but the rest of America will want you to run for POTUS! #LetsGO #GameON

This is why non employed doctors are getting crushed.
My surgeon was paid $456 for an hour+ long robotic abdominal procedure. And if you knew the anatomy, risks, training needed, etc… is just an absurdly low sum of $.
Stop telling me it’s the doctors fees.
And. He didn’t get paid for 3+mos by @Aetna despite a clean claim.
You can send your attorney an email and be charged more 😒
It’s called medical school.
At this point, we should just allow medication to be on the grocery shelves. If these people are relying on Internet resources for the general public, then let’s just cut the middle person and let these people make their own dangerous decisions

Obama CMS Chief: Medicare Advantage Plans Game the System medpagetoday.com/special-rep…
Three questions to ask Dr. Berwick:
1. What did you do while you were CMS administrator to rein in MA programs from their bad behaviors like denial of necessary care?
And everyone with no medical literacy is exploited. This reckless practice needs absolute redress. It’s truly criminal down to the core of those organizations who advocate that care is equivalent.

Well stated. There are so many physicians who are afraid to speak up or are simply trying to be kind and inclusive. Being complicit won’t solve anything, makes you a part of the problem, and will make you ultimately liable.

This will need to be sorted out in court since our legislators have been bought out by corporations. @triallawsection @MedMalLawyers jamanetwork.com/journals/jam…
I hope attorneys begin to realize that not are many negligent but grossly negligent and reckless. The damages for the latter are far greater, and unfortunately, the courts system appears to be the only thing left to effect change.
The Nurse Practitioner Professional Liability Exposure Claim Report: 5th Edition(2022 Dataset) is out. Yep, malpractice data is kept on NPs sans physicians.
