On a recent trip to Palani temple, I traveled by train from Chennai to Dindigul and then by car to Palani. On my return journey, I spotted a mountain with a unique shape and steep peak. ⛰️
🤔 Intrigued, I took a photo & researched it online, discovering to my surprise that

Nandi is far more than Bhagavān Śiva’s sacred vāhana and gatekeeper.
In Śaiva tradition, he is also revered as a Guru and transmitter of divine wisdom.
The Abhinaya Darpana, a classical Sanskrit treatise on dance, gesture and expression, is attributed to Nandikeśvara.
In the Tamil Siddha tradition, Nandi is revered as a great spiritual master, with Tirumūlar and Patañjali associated with his guru lineage.

What if devotion is not about seeing the Divine, but about longing to hold the Divine close, to place His feet upon your head, embrace Him and experience His presence within your very heart?
This is the extraordinary intimacy of devotion that Ādi Śaṅkarācārya expresses in:
Verse 26 of Śivānanda Laharī.
O Lord of Kailasa! When shall I behold You and hold Your sacred, auspicious feet in my hands?
2.गृहीत्वा हस्ताभ्यां शिरसि नयने वक्षसि वहन् ।
When shall I lovingly place those divine feet upon my head, before my eyes and against my heart?
3. समाश्लिष्याघ्राय स्फुटजलजगन्धान् परिमला-
When shall I embrace You closely and breathe in the exquisite fragrance of Your lotus feet?
4. नलभ्यां ब्रह्माद्यैर्मुदमनुभविष्यामि हृदये ॥
When shall I experience in my heart that supreme bliss which even Brahma and the other gods cannot attain?

True devotion culminates when the distance between Shiva and the devotee dissolves. The seeker, the sought and the bliss of union become one. 🙏🏼

Ganapati resides in the Muladhara Chakra, the foundation of our spiritual journey.
The serpent encircling His belly evokes Kundalini Shakti, the dormant spiritual energy within us, waiting to awaken and ascend.
Just as Ganesha removes obstacles from our path, His symbolism reminds us that the journey inward begins with grounding, stability and divine grace.

We tend to like things simply because we see them often.
Psychologists call this the mere exposure effect.
Familiarity breeds comfort, even when there is no real reason to prefer something.
This is why repeated ads work and why first impressions can change over time.
What is one thing you started liking only after seeing it many times?
What if people aren't buying from you because they simply haven't seen you enough? 📸
There’s a psychological reason visibility can make you more persuasive. 👀

In search of peace & happiness?
Our temples have miraculous powers. The energy of a temple makes one bow down & surrender. It's a comfortable feeling!
Next, find a quiet corner, sit down, soak in the energy before you leave.
Feel the difference.

Did you know that Chidambaram has a special Aippasi Pooram Utsavam dedicated to Sivakama Sundari Ambal? 🪷
While Pooram is traditionally associated with Devi and is widely celebrated as Aadi Pooram, Thillai has its own distinctive tradition of celebrating Ambal in Aippasi.
This is not just another temple festival; it is a beautiful tradition with historical roots.
Here is a video explaining this special celebration. Credits in the video.

I feel sad that we have reduced Mahalakshmi as a ‘wealth giving wish fulfilling’ goddess… consort of MahaVishnu.
Mahalakshmi gives us satiation. Not wealth. And there are many forms of wealth that she gives us.
That’s what Sri Suktam is about… and if people stop equating Sri to a form, they’d see the glory that is Mahalakshmi. 🙏

Blessed to have darshan at the ancient Karkatakeswarar Temple at Thirundudevankudi, near Kumbakonam, on the auspicious occasion of Aayilyam Nakshatra yesterday.
Originally known as Nandan Kovil, this ancient shrine is one of the revered Paadal Petra Sthalams. The temple was reconstructed as a Katrali (stone temple) during the reign of Kulothunga Chola I.
The presiding deity is Karkatakeswarar, and interestingly, the temple has two Amman shrines, dedicated to Aru Marundhu Nayaki and Apoorva Nayaki. 1/4
