Unfortunately, all signs are pointing to Will Hall remaining as head coach of Tulane in 2027. A Bowl appearance is not the standard, but it will work for him.
Obviously I hate that, as do most Tulane fans. The pressure Hall is feeling is not coming from the Tulane administration. It's coming from all of us.
Will Hall will promise to retain Trace Johnson, and he will commit to calling plays. There will be a large group of returning players and certainly a lot of coaches.
He will sell David Harris and the admin on continuity. More investment in the offensive line, more development for a young group.
But it's just more of the same mediocrity. More poor discipline. More bad preparation. Horrible decision making. And the wrong approach.
Will Hall is trying to build a program like it's 2015. But it's 2026 now, and the transfer portal is a critical tool for success. He wants to largely ignore it.
He just doesn't have what it takes. He's a damn nice guy, players seem to like him, but that doesn't mean you're the right person to lead Tulane football.
This is the dark, black hole I was hoping Tulane would avoid. But just like a great used car salesman, Will Hall is doing a lot of telling, and selling beat up shit. Tulane is falling for it. The program will suffer.

But yeah, let's keep celebrating beating the worst team in the country by jumping up and down like a clown.
Down 10 in the fourth to a 1-6 team. Needed a touchdown with 10 seconds left just to get to overtime.
