This week we’ve been experiencing broad beans in all their sensory abundance! The bumpy feel of those full pods, the fresh metallic smell, the pop when they’re twisted revealing the snug plump beans within, in their smooth grey-green coats, the silky furry insides of the pods …

And finally when their coats are slipped off, the bright pea green cotyledons inside, just waiting to be eaten! This week we experienced all this and then mashed them to a pulp to spread on rice cakes! Yum! #broadbeans #sensoryoverload #tastesensations
