Absolutely true, and one of the reasons I’m Pro-AI when it comes to amplifying people, and Anti-AI automation of big, gestalt tasks like driving. AI is the new corporate “sorry/not sorry”, “the devil made me do it” , scapegoat. Only people are truly accountable.
The ugly spectacle of the CEO who apologizes while conducting remorseless layoffs. Is there anything more ridiculous in modern life than a corporate apology?

“Thank You for Your Service” open.substack.com/pub/fivex5… She has 20 years of Naval Intelligence, HUMINT, and deployed combat experience. The algorithm sees a translation problem and moves on. She's not an edge case. She's the expected output of a broken filter. New piece on the triage problem hiding in plain sight 👇

I tell everyone this. It's harder and more painful to be an optimist, because the world is filled with people who know it's easier to say: "it can't be done".
For quality of life, it is better to err on the side of being an optimist and wrong, rather than a pessimist and right

I'm starting to think the UX field is overdue for a good primer on how to really *do* interaction design. Current education is way too focused on polished deliverables. Not enough on-your-feet skills and thinking techniques.

Best show on the web right now. This Ep was esp good. @Trevornoah & Co treat the topic of alienated young men with the curiosity and compassion it deserves. @JoshJohnson was especially insightful, giving the subject the full Old Soul treatment that is becoming his signature.

<1> Hey @Grammarly you've disabled product feedback on your site so taking it to twitter. You've ruined your product. I've been an annual premium user for 7 years, I average 50K words a week. I'm stuck with you for another 11 months, but there won't be an 8th.

<2> The product has become completely unusable on most web pages and apps. The recommendations are frequently wrong, or create errors by injecting corrections in the middle of words which are time consuming to correct - your product is creating NEGATIVE value.

When did @HP decide that ransomware is a legit business model? They've bricked my printer after canceling the optional subscription for toner I was overpaying for. Even their "official" cartridge doesn't work until HP "unlocks" the machine. I hope the @FTC is paying attention.

Word to the wise, do not, under any circumstances, "buy" an HP printer. You don't own it if they require invasive surveillance of your usage and dictate how you can use it. This is what happens to companies that stop innovating.

Wow -I've been a Descript fanboy for years (and I'm pretty 'meh' about most software) - this is a next-level, game-changing release that democratizes what almost anyone can do with video. Check it out. descript.com/storyboard?refe…

Also, @FCC, @FTC @Verizon - I did NOT opt into this subscription, it was added automatically after I had to replace my Phone under @applecare at the @Apple store, so a new sub, via an existing sub, conferred without consent. I'm sure I had to pay an "activation fee" for that too

Hey @Verizon maybe assume security improvements/baring criminal activity on your network (with data you already have) is just a basic condition for exclusive use or the frequency spectrum we rent to you by way of @FCC.

Hot Take - $130(++) a barrel oil, rising inflation, and continued logistics issues + trade embargos will sink a lot of corporate “return to office” plans…or kick the resignation game into high gear. @cornett
Pro tip for all you people managers getting hit by the great resignation: Toxic Masculinity and perfectionism is not a management philosophy.
