Ponte is live 🌉 Ponte is a bridge between your crypto and everyday life, from Europe to Nigeria, running inside @nimiq Pay. Most crypto apps stop at "you hold coins". Ponte is about what comes next: turning NIM and USDT into cash and things you actually use, and back again, from your phone. What works today: - Swap NIM ⇄ USDT, no gas. Sign once and Ponte pays the network fee. Tested with real money on mainnet, both directions. - Cash in and out with real people. A seller locks USDT in an escrow contract on Polygon. A tester from the Nimiq community on Skool found a real edge case in Ponte's Lightning payments, backed by an onchain tx If Nimiq Pay's approval screen stayed open for more than ~2 min, Ponte showed "failed" even though the wallet could still pay. A retry could mean paying twice. Fixed and live on Ponte: • A timeout now shows "status unknown", not "failed" • That invoice is locked against a second payment • "Check my wallet" verifies before any retry More is ready and in final testing: Nigerian airtime, data and electricity paid with NIM, gasless USDT and more. Coming to production very soon.
