We’re hosting the Alpaca × Conviction Trading Hackathon in San Francisco on September 20.
We’re especially excited to be doing this with @AlpacaHQ , which powers 10M+ brokerage accounts across financial institutions in 40+ countries.
At @tryconviction, we’re building an agentic trading desk. Describe an idea in natural language, backtest, and go live with it. Our goal is to eliminate the barriers to generating alpha.
No coding or trading experience required. Just bring a laptop and a market idea.

And traders who last the longest:
Do all of this + automate their trading strategies

The easiest way to do that is to set up a pipeline with AI agents so that you longer need to babysit a strategy or let emotions swing your decisions. Checkout tradewithdelphi.com

Tesla jumped 5% after getting approval to deploy up to 5,000 robotaxis in Las Vegas.
A strategy you could have tested:
Buy Tesla when a major new market grants robotaxi approval and volume breaks above average.
The interesting question isn’t “should I buy Tesla?”
It’s: has this type of catalyst actually worked before?
That’s what we’re building at Conviction.

Walmart fell hard after weaker-than-expected sales.
The obvious reaction is “consumer weakness = bad for retail.”
But I’d actually want to test the opposite:
Do big drops after disappointing retail earnings tend to keep falling, or are they usually good mean-reversion opportunities?
A lot of “obvious” trades stop being obvious once you look at the data.

There are traders on X whose ideas I genuinely want to follow.
But “following” usually means hoping I happen to see their next post.
I’d rather follow their actual strategies.
See what they’re testing.
See how their past ideas performed.
See what their community is building around them.
That’s a big part of what we’re building with Conviction.

I actually think trading strategies should be more open.
If I build something interesting, you should be able to:
see it
test it
change the rules
challenge it
build a better version
The interesting part isn’t copying someone’s trade.
It’s seeing how other people think and building on top of it.

The market is open while you’re in class, at work, asleep, or just living your life.
You shouldn’t have to keep refreshing Robinhood or checking X to know whether your setup happened.
On Conviction, you can find a strategy from another trader or build your own, test it, and set the conditions you care about.
Then Conviction watches the market for you.
You decide the strategy. Your agent handles the monitoring.
