Something is not adding up.
We've seen a wave of increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks, critical infrastructure being targeted, and now governments across 33 countries are advising citizens to prepare emergency food and water supplies for 3–10 days.
The UK just launched another nationwide preparedness campaign. Europe has been warning about cyberwarfare and infrastructure disruption. The IMF is openly warning about systemic financial risks from major cyberattacks.
Maybe it's all precautionary. Maybe there's something bigger we're not seeing yet.
But imagine what happens if an attack hits the financial system, banking infrastructure, power grids or global supply chains simultaneously.
The S&P 500, Nasdaq, global equities, banking stocks, everything.
Our brains probably cannot comprehend the scale of a genuinely systemic cyber event.
I'm not saying I know what's coming. But I'd rather be early than caught completely off guard.
All I can say is prepare yourselves.
If we make it through this week, I'll be adding to my S&P 500 short aggressively.
Something about this doesn't feel right.
