Part of the fascination with the Kirk case is that it stands as proxy of so many other questions, like the integrity & trustworthiness of this admin, the sway of Israel, the testing of the legitimacy of alt media, and the discernment of Christian influencers.

Bro cites all of his pollsters when he could’ve just listened to his friend Tucker Carlson, or remembered what Charlie Kirk was talking about before he died. Too late, JD.
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

Three bad candidates, but for all the anger over Vivek he got similar vote percentage as generic swamp RINOs.

Still true. The foreign policy George Washington advocated in his farewell address guided the US to become the most successful nation on earth by the end of the 20th Century. It took twenty-five years of foreign entanglements (alliances absent an existential threat) and hubristic military adventurism to squander that success.

Iran War ➔ Israel Epstein ➔ Israel Inflation ➔ Iran War ➔ Israel Put America First ➔ Over Israel You lost because of Israel. There's no need to write an essay for something that can be summarized in a sentence.

Definitely was bad for midterms.
Assassinating Charlie Kirk and covering it up was the worst decision Republicans made.

Leaders and voters have two different views of the politics: people care deeply about domestic issues, while leaders get intoxicated by being leaders of the world. Take Rep. Mike Carey. His first vote was to send $40b to Ukr. I called his office and was like "wtf? Americans are hurting." Carey had promised to "vote like Jim Jordan" (Jordan voted against this one).

Turning Point needs a total revamp. Tell the donors it's Charlie's vision going forward or they can go fuck themselves. TPUSA is a youth movement focused on issues impacting young people. Not donor fuck fuck pet causes.

Imagine if Trump continued doing rallies this term and got his highs off his base's reactions. It would've kept him in touch. But probably would've got his kids killed.

Lies, damn lies, and politics. Trump swept back into power in 2024 because he united the Pat Buchanan, Ron Paul, and MAHA mom wings of the party. Trump not only built a powerful coalition but he defeated, presumably once and for all, the Neocon Bush-Clinton Uniparty. Six months into Trump’s term, we knew something was amiss. There were no mass deportations. The administration bungled the Epstein files. RFK Jr was handcuffed and MAHA was backbenched. But we all forgave it and excused it because the economy was actually turning back in the right direction. Then Trump did the unthinkable. Trump sabotaged his own domestic agenda by starting the war in Iran and handing the reigns back to the NeoCons. Worse, it was clear from the beginning that Trump had no plan. Then the war squeezed the economy. Interests rates shot up. Gas prices skyrocketed. And yet, inexplicably, Trump harangued his voting base for whining about prices, called affordability a hoax, and repeatedly lied about America being in a “Golden Age.” The more his base felt squeezed, the more Trump turned his focus to luxury construction like the Kennedy Center, the Reflecting Pool, and golf courses you’ve never knew existed. Then the loses piled up. Tariffs. Corruption. Corporate interests taking over the White House. Suddenly, Trump’s base realized they were betrayed in favor of a foreign interests and corporations. There were voices crying in the wilderness. But they were silenced, ignored, and brow beaten. Everything that we’re seeing tonight was 100% avoidable. All of it. Trump squandered a generational coalition and he earned every bit of what’s happening right now. All because of lies, damnable lies.

Trust me: the GOP party machine is pleased with these "election" results. They betrayed all their campaign promises for a reason. They wanted the Democrats to win. Why? Because they don't take their orders from voters. They raise more money from the donor class when they are out of power.

The irony is Trump's bitterest critics on the Iran war (Tucker, Charlie Kirk, Kent, MTG, Massie) are actually allies who tried to save his presidency.
Last night was a referendum on the Iran war. The American people have emphatically rejected it, and the results at the polls confirmed what we’ve been warning about for months. President Trump needs to understand that he still has the option to course correct on Iran. End the war now. Walk away, and commit the rest of his term to improving the lives of the American people. Trump still has the power to do the right thing. He can still avert the disaster of a catastrophic escalation. He needs to focus on taking care of his fellow Americans if he has any hope in salvaging his legacy. End the war. Put the American people first.

The weird thing is I thought Trump's lack of virtue would mean he would seek revenge (righteous, in this case) on the malefactors of his 1st term.
We’re finally reckoning with the absolute lack of moral and civic virtues of Donald Trump. At some point serial bankruptcies, serial adulteries and divorces, and serial betrayals of one’s promises to voters exact their toll.

In March 2025 Trump was more popular—and powerful—than any Republican president in memory. His party controlled the House, the Senate, and the Supreme Court. He was fulfilling the campaign promises that built the most successful political coalition in decades. It seemed like anything was possible. No one then thought it crazy to believe the GOP would control government for at least the next decade. The Democrats were in shambles. Yet in less than two years, Trump threw it all away, for reasons still unclear. One thing is now for sure: Trump is a sinking ship, and he and anyone associated with him has the stench of failure on them. The best way forward is to jettison Trump as quickly as possible, even though Trump himself will make that near impossible. It's hard not to be infuriated with Trump far more than the usual frustration with politicians, because he showed us a glimmer of what was possible and then let it all be flushed down the drain.

The Iran War will go down as one of the biggest self-inflicted failures in political history… After explicitly running on ending foreign wars and focusing on domestic issues, Iran completely took over Trump’s 2nd term. He has now dramatically increased the odds of handing America to the far-left in 2028.

The betrayals of the Trump administration: • Iran War • Withholding Epstein files • Liability protection for glyphosate • More pesticides • mRNA flu shots • New Covid boosters • Tariffs paid by consumers, rebated to corporations • More gov. spending. What would you add?
