Just a tidbit of info in case anyone needs it. If I happen to get banned from Twitter for some reason, I will post something at gigabyteme.org (currently a parked domain, but I own it).

It actually IS the role of government to provide for you. Living in a society is a trade off of relinquishing some of your personal sovereignty for stability and material comfort. If the government doesn't provide you with ANYTHING you're just being oppressed
Because itโ€™s not the role of government to provide for you , and also no one is entitled to anyoneโ€™s services for free. Also โ€œfreeโ€ is never free. Somebody always has to pay an exorbitant amount just so you can have something for a lower cost at their expense.

A guy I grew up with is in prison. His dad had a Pontiac Grand Prix sitting in the driveway. His brother said his dad was going to scrap it. I offered to buy it for $100 more than scrap. He said no. 1500. I said no. he just scrapped it. Why are people like this

I would like to make mention that the act of CPR requires pinching the recipient's nose and placing your mouth against theirs We know logically that this is to give your breath to them, but any photographs and videos will only depict restricted airflow your law bans CPR

The fact that Germanyโ€™s largest ISP considers 10 Mbps a speed worth discussing in 2026 is a fascinating glimpse into the technological ambitions of Europe's largest economy.

If your law is so poorly written that you think itโ€™s perfectly reasonable that someone should be arrested, prosecuted, risk being put in a cage forever, be traumatized, and lose everything just to see what your law really means, your law should be thrown out and so should you.

YAY! Older VW ID.4โ€™s like mine and platform-mates are FINALLY getting โ€œTHE BUTTONโ€ for battery preconditioning! They added it to 2024 and later. However I am seeing conflicting info online whether this update is coming Nov 2026 or Nov 2027. Typo? insideevs.com/news/814524/vwโ€ฆ

If you're $50 short on a bank payment, they'll charge you another $35 for being broke. If a bank loses $50 billion, suddenly the entire fucking economy depends on saving it. Funny how capitalism demands financial responsibility from everyone except the people running it.

Burritos that used to cost $8 now cost $20. A family of four pays $80 instead of $32. It's a big deal. Mexican takeout used to be easy relief, now I need to ensure I spend my little weekend free time meal prepping for the week. This is a survival mode, dogshit economy.

Just fed my family of 4 last night for under $20. Pork Tenderloin, mashed potatoes, carrots, and mushrooms. People paying $20 for a burrito and then bitching about it are genuinely retarded.

I hate how weโ€™ve romanticised hustle culture. I donโ€™t want to wake up at 6AM, hit the gym, eat calculated meals, and spend the next 35 years working 40 hours a week just to climb the corporate ladder. Why has being perpetually tired become the definition of success?

Itโ€™s also normal to be able to afford groceries, go on a family vacation every once in a while, and have access to healthcareโ€ฆ
Just a reminder that itโ€™s normal to drive your car until it dies, cook dinner most nights, live in a smaller home, pack your lunch, keep your phone until it stops working, buy used before buying new, make coffee at home, and wear the same clothes for years.

There is no baseline of American childhood anymore. There is no longer an assumption that you had two loving parents. There is no youth culture anymore, because there is no foundation for it in a stable family. The new generations are fragmented, contradictory, and inconsistent for this reason, the loss of a common experience.

I think millennials are finally waking up. Nobody gives a sh*t about climbing the corporate ladder anymore. Nobody cares about a corporation anymore because of regular layoffs. Nobody wants to build someone elseโ€™s dream. Weโ€™d rather just build our own thing online and attract inbound opportunities. Then use what weโ€™ve built to create moderate wealth and exit mainstream society. Some say this is crazy.

Maslowโ€™s hierarchy of needs. You threaten peopleโ€™s livelihoods and their purchasing power by destroying the market and economy ramping up massive inflation. Do not be shocked that people choose to lash out and tell you to shut up about your scifi utopian stories. Itโ€™s so easy for you to talk lofty when you are not the one struggling to afford anything.
Sometimes I wonder if people actually understand the magnitude of whatโ€™s happening with ai. We could be witnessing the beginning of the greatest scientific and technological revolution in human history. Yet so much of the public conversation is painfully small-minded.

The bullshit has been called.
BREAKING: A mystery seller is trying to dump about $500 million in data center loans all at once, per Bloomberg, days after the midterms raised doubts about many projects. The anonymous seller is auctioning a dozen loans, including a $25 million piece of financing for a huge Stargate site in New Mexico, the joint project of OpenAI, SoftBank and Oracle. Oracle has already sent that siteโ€™s developer a force majeure notice, a legal claim that events beyond its control may excuse it from its obligations.

It is almost 2027 and VW still hasnโ€™t bothered to update the ID.4 software of the 2023 and older models to enable battery preconditioning. Iโ€™m not looking forward to my first winter roadtrip in mine and waiting extra long to charge for no reason. The hardware is there! Fix it!

Sometimes I wonder if it would be better if the largest cities were their own states and had their own laws and government entirely.

What exactly did you guys think would happen when introducing a profoundly labor-replacing technology to an economy based around low-growth graft, rent-seeking, and welfare abuse of the remaining middle-class tax cattle?
Itโ€™s bleaker than that: AI is so unpopular *because* of how transformatively useful it is

I was told it would steal jobs, make artists obsolete, and possibly kill everyone. ๐Ÿคท There has been no substantial push to convince people it will be positive.
silicon valley spent so much time trying to explain what ai will make possible for ppl. but it deeply underestimated how many ppl are primarily fearful of what ai will take away from them.
