I started Zomato with a spirit of service. Blinkit Ambulance is what that spirit of service looks like today. In the last 2 years, we have served ~20,000 emergency cases (~42,000 cases in total). We haven't charged a single rupee for any of them. And we want to keep it that way. With everything free, a growing share of bookings are for routine checkups, hospital visits and hospital-to-home transfers, trips that an Uber or private transport could have handled just as easily. Every such booking keeps a fully equipped emergency ambulance with paramedics off the road when someone's life may depend on it. So we are making a change from now onwards: Emergency transfers – free, as always. Non-emergency transfers – ₹2,500, charged after the trip. Broadly in line with what private ambulances charge. This money goes to Eternal Foundation, which runs these ambulances and will help us scale them even further. We hope that this charge will dramatically drop the usage of our Ambulances for non-emergency cases. 10-minute ambulances have saved and can save thousands of lives, and we need to keep them available for emergencies that need them the most. One more thing. Scaling high quality ambulances is hard. The biggest bottleneck is trained, empathic paramedics. Our training academy is scaling as fast as we can without compromising on quality, and @albinder and team are committed to bringing Blinkit Ambulance to all major cities in India in the next 2-4 years. Stay well, and I pray you don't need us. @sparsh_sehgal – I wish your grandma a speedy recovery, and I am so glad we were able to be there on time.
Blinkit ambulance saved my grandma's life today. Things went south suddenly, but they reached home in 8 minutes and drove her to the emergency ward promptly. Forever grateful. No hospital ambulance could have managed this response time.

Why India will never become like Europe and America!! Blinkit's Founder started Free Ambulance Service in some cities to handle emergency cases. What Indian's did? - Started Booking it for routine checkups, hospital visits and hospital-to-home transfers. They could have easily hired a Ola, Uber and Rapido for checkups, hospital visits and transfers but they wanted to save that money!! Now blinkit will be charging 2500 rupees for each non emergency bookings and it will be free for emergency bookings!! The 2500 will go to trusts which manages these Free Ambulances!! Indians will never have the civic sense and they don't deserve good services!!

If you only knew how far a man would go for a woman he genuinely wants, you'd be disgusted with yourself for all the begging, compromising, and excuses you made just to get the bare minimum.

India is probably one of the most social countries in the world, but strangely we are not very friendly to strangers. Spend some time outside India and you’ll notice this immediately - Walk into a lift, cross someone in a park or stand next to someone in a public place. People will just smile, say ‘Hi’ or give you a small nod and move on. Try doing that in India - Smile at a random person in a lift and you can almost see the calculation happening in their head. Do I know this guy? Why is he smiling at me? Is he going to ask me for something? Is he trying to sell me something? And if a man randomly smiles at a woman, there is an entirely different investigation happening. We are extremely social with people we know. Family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, relatives. But with complete strangers, our default setting is suspicion. We are an incredibly social society, yet two strangers standing inside the same lift would rather stare at the floor numbers for 30 seconds than smile and say hello to each other. Very strange when you actually think about it.

diwali parties are capitalist propaganda. wdym you're supposed to go out with friends, drink and dance?? i thought the tradition was arguing with your parents all day and then pretending to be a functional family when relatives come over.

Men in the west cook, clean and still play his role as the provider. Only Asian men cry about this.
🚨 Gems of Instagram 🚨 Imagine being a provider and still cooking for your wife and her friends. No man in the entire world deserve such life partner.

I am on my 1200th km here, and I haven’t spotted a single pothole so far. How is this even humanly possible man? That too in a country where the monsoon rains are at their peak. What quality are they using? I shouldn’t have come here. More than enjoyment it is saddening me. Wtf.

I guess diwali cleaning is just discovering forgotten stuff and putting them back again with the hope of using them someday !

Try making all these things once. You'll know why.
Am I the only one missing this? Earlier, by this time, the fragrance of frying chaklis, Karanji, chiwda, and shankarpali from homes on any Mumbai street I passed would fill my nostrils, but not anymore. Have we stopped making them at home?

Girl to girl: Have your own career. Have your own money. Have your own identity. Always. The only truly unconditional love in this world is a parent’s love. Almost everything else comes with conditions. Never put yourself in a position where your survival, security or happiness depends entirely on someone else.
Women should always work and earn her money else you have to listen to this. Never be dependent on husband. There is no greater pain than dependancy. Emotionally and Financially

Imagine you live in a colony and buy fruit from the same local vendor. The fruit is fine. Not especially juicy or tasty, but fine. Then one day, a premium supermarket opens nearby. You buy fruit there at three times the price. It’s bigger, juicier and tastes damn good. You start believing that if you want good fruit, you simply have to pay two or three times more. Then you travel somewhere like Thailand, Bali or Sri Lanka. There, you find fruit that’s even bigger, juicier and sweeter than what you bought at that premium supermarket. And it costs less than what your regular vendor charges back home. That’s when you realise how different the world outside your colony can be. You come home and tell your friends, “I had the best fruit of my life there. And it was cheaper, too.” And your friend, who’s never stepped outside his colony, taunts you: “Gareeb, paise dekar supermarket se le le na. Ro kyun raha hai?” This post wasn’t exactly about fruit. (Or maybe it was.)
