The Division of Capital Asset Management awarded the contract in July 2026 to Liberty Junction. The partnership includes CoJo Partners, co-owned by Conan Harris and John Barros, who at the time was interim executive director of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority.
Under the deal the state will lease the new Regional Justice Center at 125 Liberty Street for at least 40 years and never own the building. Total construction and rent costs are estimated near $2 billion.

Two losing bidders filed suit in Hampden Superior Court alleging the process was rife with conflicts of interest.
They pointed to Barros’s role and the timing of his ethics disclosure. They also cited meetings with Gov. Maura Healey’s staff shortly before the award became public.

A judge denied their request for an injunction. Barros later said he would divest. Harris has not. Pressley has said she and her husband keep their finances completely separate and that she has no unique insights into the deal.

Healey has defended the selection as the best value for taxpayers, roughly $300 million below the next-lowest offer. Outside a Springfield event this week Harris was asked how much he stands to receive. He replied, “I have no comment.”

When ai was a young girl in school, learning about the horrors of the Second World War, I could not understand how anyone allowed it to get to that. A three star general sitting in a diner in Arlington with notes he took from a classified report, reading them out loud to a reporter who was writing a book… think about that for a second.
According to the internal investigation report Axios got its hands on, Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia, the man running strategy, plans and policy for the Joint Chiefs, admitted to leaking classified information on Iran and Ukraine to two reporters at two different outlets over about a year, and a U.S. official says he acknowledged it on video after he failed four polygraphs. It started as early as June 2025, it ran through Signal, and when one of those reporters lost Pentagon access he just moved the meeting to the Silver Diner. Then there is the Signal thread about Iran that he says he deleted by accident… investigators don't buy that and neither do I.
Now keep in mind the part the press is skipping. When Hegseth fired him, the Joint Staff put out a statement thanking him for 32 years of distinguished service, and according to a U.S. official it was acting Army Secretary Adam Telle's office pushing for that warm send off to limit the fallout. They pulled it once the full picture came out. So who exactly were they protecting, and why was the first instinct to polish the general instead of protecting the country he swore an oath to?
Here is the reality. This is what institutional rot looks like up close, a man with stars on his shoulders who decided the press was his chain of command, and the report even says he admitted being one of the 20 officials quoted in a story trashing Pentagon leadership. Rank was supposed to mean something. Honor was supposed to mean something. He traded both for a few pages in somebody else's book.
How many more of them are still sitting in that building? You already know the answer.

Bazzi previously replaced Osama Siblani as head of the Arab American Political Action Committee. Siblani has praised Hezbollah, Nasrallah, and Nabih Berri on camera.

Her own brother said Nabih Berri and Abbas Ibrahim personally called the family to congratulate them. Berri is the political face of the Shiite alliance with Hezbollah. Ibrahim has long been called “Hezbollah’s man.”
