There has been a long hiatus on my #DeadDeepDive series but I’m gonna crank it back up with Europe ‘72, one of several acknowledged peaks of the band and the last real hurrah of Pigpen. Over the next several days I’m going to go REALLY deep. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europe…
My #DeadDeepDive 48, focusing on 1972, may have to broken into multiple threads. One of the most important years. The lineup changes. The song-rich “solo” albums. Europe 72, now available in multiple complete nights officially. Here’s 1/2/72 Winterland youtu.be/Ky8BBHmGMuQ?is=ARjr…
And all 22 shows had Pigpen’s signature Mr. Charlie. Here’s the great 5/3/72 version from the Olympia in Paris. youtu.be/YlN-Eokr1mg?is=rD64…
