CEPA was represented by our Executive Director - Timothy Chemonges, who witnessed firsthand the work of the @NamayanjaFound in promoting #RoadSafetyUg at Wobulenzi Taxi Park, Luwero District, on 3rd Nov earlier this week. For Hon. @RoseNamayanja, this mission is deeply personal. Having survived a devastating road crash in 2015 and undergone 6 major operations, she is using her experience to help others avoid the pain she endured. Her story reminds us what is at stake. @PoliceUg recorded 5,383 road deaths in 2025, up from 5,144 in 2024—thousands of families losing someone they expected to return home. As a member of @ROSACUg, CEPA is proud to be part of this partnership. Our contribution over the years has centred on advocating for effective speed regulations, promoting seat belt use and advancing child restraints to protect young passengers. @ChemongesTim pledged CEPA’s full support for the Foundation’s road safety efforts as we continue working together to make our roads safer. #RoadSafetyUg #CEPAProgramming

We draw hope & encouragement when individuals & organizations join us in the fight against road traffic crashes. Every contribution towards making our roads safer brings us closer to saving lives. The recent launch of the Rose Namayanja Foundation (RNF) is a commendable initiative aimed at restoring sanity on our roads through public awareness and road safety advocacy. There is so much to learn from the testimonies of road crash survivors. Their experiences carry powerful lessons that can change mindsets, influence behaviour & encourage even the most reckless road users to rethink their actions. We thank @NamayanjaFound for this noble initiative & pledge our continued support & partnership in this important cause. Together we can change attitudes, promote responsible road use and save lives. @RoseNamayanja @PoliceUg #RoadSafety #ArriveAlive #SavingLives #RoseNamayanjaFoundation #ToffiraKukkubo

DRIVE, RIDE AND WALK CAREFULLY — YOUR FAMILY NEEDS YOU! 🚦 Every journey matters, and every life lost on our roads is one too many. On 3rd November 2026, the Uganda Professional Drivers’ Network (UPDN) @uganda_drivers joined the Rose Namayanja Foundation (@NamayanjaFound) for a Road Safety Awareness Campaign at Wobulenzi Taxi Park in Luwero District. Mr. Kahiigwa Deo Byaruhanga represented UPDN on behalf of our Executive Director, Mr. Ndugu Omongo (@omongondugu1). What makes this campaign particularly meaningful is the personal story behind it. Having survived a serious road crash in 2015, Rt. Hon. Rose Namayanja Nsereko (@RoseNamayanja) has turned a painful experience into a mission to protect others from similar tragedies. Her commitment reminds us that behind every road crash statistic is a person, a family and a story. According to Uganda Police statistics, 24,026 people lost their lives in road crashes between 2021 and 2025, including 5,383 in 2025 alone. These are not just numbers. They represent parents, children, friends and colleagues whose lives were cut short. With the Kampala-Gulu Highway remaining a high-risk corridor, this campaign comes at an important time, especially as we approach the festive season when many people will be travelling to reunite with their loved ones. At UPDN, we believe that safer roads begin with the choices we make every day. Whether you are behind the wheel, riding a motorcycle, travelling as a passenger or walking along the roadside, your actions matter. We appreciate the collective efforts of @PoliceUg, the Uganda Taxi Operators Federation (UTOF), the Road Safety Advocacy Coalition Uganda (@ROSACUg), the Rose Namayanja Foundation and fellow road safety stakeholders working to make our roads safer. Our message is simple: Slow down, stay alert, respect other road users and never take safety for granted. No journey is worth a life. ❤️ Someone is waiting for you at home. Make sure you get there safely. #RoadSafetyUganda #DriveRideWalkCarefully #ROSACU #RNF #FestiveSeasonSafety #TofiiraKuKkubo #UPDN – at Luwero, Uganda
Replying to @NamayanjaFound
Through the RNF, I am transforming my pain into purpose by advocating for safer roads and helping prevent others from experiencing the same devastation. Every life matters. Whether you drive, ride, or walk, please choose safety your family is waiting for you to come home.

DAY 2 | Advancing Professional Driver Training and Assessment in Uganda. The journey towards a more skilled, competent and professional driving workforce continues! Thursday, 5 November 2026, marked Day 2of the three-day Technical Review Workshop for Assessment and Training Packages (ATPs) for Professional Drivers, organised by the Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (@UVTABOfficial) in collaboration with the Uganda Professional Drivers' Network (@uganda_drivers). Held at Esella Country Hotel, Kira, the workshop has brought together Sector Skills Experts from the Ministry of Education and Sports (@Educ_SportsUg), industry practitioners and other key stakeholders to review and refine the draft ATPs. The technical review focuses on strengthening occupational competencies, learning outcomes, training content and assessment requirements to ensure alignment with Uganda's Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) framework and the evolving needs of the transport industry. This collaborative process contributes to Uganda's broader TVET reform agenda, supported by the TVET Council of Uganda (@TVETCouncilUg), towards industry-relevant training standards, recognised professional qualifications and a more competent driving workforce. At UPDN, we remain committed to advancing driver professionalisation through quality training, recognised competencies and stronger industry standards. Better Skills. Safer Roads. Professional Drivers. #UPDN #UVTAB #TVETCouncilUg #ProfessionalDrivers #RoadSafety #TVETUganda #SkillsDevelopment #DriverProfessionalisation – at Kampala, Uganda

Road safety has never been built on the assumption that everyone drives perfectly. Even careful drivers get distracted, misjudge, or react a fraction too late. Safer speeds exist so those ordinary human moments don’t become irreversible tragedies. Worth remembering. #TofiiraKuKkubo #Tweddeko #ArriveAlive #UPDN #RoadSafetyUg – at Kampala, Uganda
"I am a careful driver, so speed limits don't matter much." But road safety has never been built around perfect human behaviour. Even experienced drivers can misjudge a situation, get distracted for a second, or react too late. Safer speeds help ensure that a simple mistake does not become a life-changing tragedy. Whether driving a truck, motorcycle or private vehicle, always remember that your safety and the safety of other road users matter. Maintain a safe following distance, avoid distractions, observe speed limits and remain attentive to changing road conditions. You may not control what other road users do, but you can control how you respond. A moment of caution can prevent a lifetime of regret. #RoadSafety #ArriveAlive

SUNDAY WEEKLY RECAP Road safety goes beyond what we do behind the steering wheel. It is also about the choices we make as passengers, pedestrians, motorcyclists and other road users. This week, UPDN continued to highlight practical ways to make our roads safer, from responsible driving and safe overtaking to protecting vulnerable road users. As we look ahead to a new week, let us put these lessons into practice and encourage others to do the same. Every responsible action on the road counts. #TofiiraKuKkubo #Tweddeko #ArriveAlive – at Kampala, Uganda

SAFE OVERTAKING SAVES LIVES A few minutes saved are never worth a life lost. Before overtaking, make sure the road ahead is clear, check your mirrors and blind spots, signal your intention and ensure you have enough room to return safely to your lane. Never overtake on blind corners, hills, near junctions or when another vehicle is already overtaking. When in doubt, be patient and wait for a safe opportunity. As we head into the weekend, let patience guide every journey. Do not put your life or the lives of other road users at risk just to get ahead. Overtake safely. Arrive alive. #TofiiraKuKkubo #Tweddeko #ArriveAlive – at Kampala, Uganda
