Really excited to see this new capability come to BioRTC! Bringing retinal imaging into our #SAHELStudy opens an exciting opportunity to examine the eye alongside cognition, biomarkers, genetics, and other clinical data in our ageing and dementia cohort in northern Nigeria. Beyond the research, this will also help expand access to retinal imaging in clinical research in our region. A population this diverse, this understudied, and this important to global dementia science deserves to be at the centre of discoveries like this. I cannot wait to see what we find.

Retinal Imaging Comes to the SAHEL Study A Topcon Maestro2 optical coherence tomography (OCT) retinal imaging system has arrived @BioRTCNig. This will allow us to investigate relationships between the eye, brain ageing and dementia in our SAHEL cohort of 1,100+ participants.
