for the first time, i'm seeing something like this. someone requested refunds for all 8 weekly renewals. most likely, they just forgot to cancel. and i think all 8 will be approved. this feels a bit unfair, tbh. maybe i should just sell yearly subscriptions.

i noticed something interesting. i asked chatgpt why it recommended my competitor over my app. it said my competitor had more ratings. i checked, and my app actually had more. so i went back and asked again. this time, chatgpt shared the links as proof. turns out, it was checking my app store page with '?platform=tv' at the end of the url, which doesn't show ratings. so chatgpt assumed my app had fewer ratings and recommended my competitor instead. all because of a url parameter. :d

i asked chatgpt for the "best x apps" in my app's niche. one of the apps it recommended ranks below mine in every country on the app store, yet mine didn't even make the list. that app doesn't even have a website. i really wonder what made chatgpt recommend it over mine. 🤔

let's see how good you are at making decisions with ad performance data. your target ctr is 20% a keyword gets its first 30 impressions with 0 taps. what would you do? a. pause it b. wait for more data

tbh, it's a really good strategy to benefit from your competitors' organic content. of course, i'm not saying you should copy their content. but you can run ads on their brand names. so when users discover them through organic content and search for their app, they might see yours first. i don't think there's much competition or high cpts for most competitor brand keywords.

if you're new to apple ads and don't have a big budget, here's how to burn through your money without learning much: run ads for multiple apps at once. create multiple campaigns. target multiple countries in a single campaign. target too many keywords in a single campaign.

i'm glad you asked. this is entirely my own investment. i haven't received any government support or incentives, and i won't be eligible for any for this amount either. hopefully, i'll be able to get some in the future. but there's a whole process involved, and you don't know whether you'll qualify when you're spending the money. you could end up spending it all and getting nothing back. if i do qualify, i could get up to 70% of my ad spend reimbursed, but only 6–8 months later. and keep in mind, inflation in turkey is over 50%. i won't lie, i'd be very happy if i could benefit from this one day. but things aren't quite as rosy as they might seem.

so far in 2026, i've spent $53K on apple ads. it worked really well for the first 6 months, but my profit margins have dropped significantly over the last 2–3 months. i've started digging into it a bit.

thanks for all the advice! i've added two options: a monthly subscription with tokens included, or byok. free users can also try the app using my tokens, no setup needed. this should definitely get more people to try it, so i'm pretty happy with how it turned out
