Your 10th certificate won't fix what the first 9 didn't. Another course. Another tutorial. Another certificate. But when someone asks what you can actually build, you freeze. Maybe you don't need more lessons. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 🧵👇

Stop counting courses. Rather 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆. Learning matters but Applying it matters too. So what tech role are you working towards ??and what's stopping you from building your first real project?

Ask yourself: Can I show what I've learned without showing a certificate? A website. A dashboard. A problem you've solved. Certificates can support your credibility, but 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀. They both have a place.

Before buying another course: 1.𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 to explore. 2.Read 3 real job descriptions. 3.Note the skills they share. 4.𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 using those skills. Now you're learning toward something specific. Save this for later. 📌

Learning without direction is like packing for a trip without knowing where you're going. You pack your Native attire , Corporate clothes, Nike sneakers and slippers. Just in case. Now your bag is full, but you're still not prepared for the journey. That's scattered learning.

You know some HTML, CSS, Python and JavaScript. But what role are you aiming for? Frontend developer? Data analyst? UI designer? Learning a little of everything feels productive. 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁, it's easy to keep starting and never finish.

Switching careers isn’t about throwing away everything you’ve built. It’s about finding where your experience meets new opportunities. And sometimes, the smartest move isn’t quitting. It’s PREPARING.

One more thing: Don’t confuse excitement with readiness. Watching someone earn well in tech doesn’t mean their career path is right for you. Understand the skills, challenges, opportunities, and time commitment first. Choose a career based on FIT, not HYPE.

Before switching careers, use this 3-step test: 1. EXPLORE: Speak to 3 people already working in your target field. 2. EXPERIMENT: Complete one small, realistic project. 3. EVALUATE: Do you enjoy the actual work or just the idea of the career? Save this before your next move 📌

Here’s the mistake many career switchers make: They assume they’re starting from zero. YOURE NOT A teacher moving into tech already understands communication. A salesperson understands customers. A project manager understands deadlines. Your previous experience is your advantage.

The first thing you lose isn’t money. It’s confidence. Yesterday, people came to you for answers. Today, you’re asking questions that feel embarrassing and basic. That’s the uncomfortable reality of becoming a beginner again. But being new to a field doesn’t make you inexperienced

The second shock is financial. You might spend months learning without earning from your new skill. And your first opportunity might pay less than your previous job. This is why quitting immediately can be risky. You have to build a financial cushion before making the leap.

You never have to be the most talented person in the room to succeed. But Be the one who keeps learning, asking questions, takes action, and improves every day. GM GM
