If you lost the #MDT ability to capture static IP in #SCCM #OSD, here is a replacement for the ZTINICConfig.wsf. It's based on the original script and is named "Capture-OSDZTINICConfig". Find it here - github.com/urpatton/Capture-…. Please direct any questions or bugs through GitHub.
Also check out the UDI wizard replacement for #SCCM #OSD task sequences. Uses the existing UDI XML. No subscription needed! github.com/urpatton/OSD-Wiza… #ConfigMgr #MDT
Have you tried TSDude? It's our PowerShell task sequence UI solution for #ConfigMgr.

#ConfigMgr 2609 hits early ring.
Nothing particularly exciting to see here; a bunch of deprecations and updated dependencies.
If you have workgroup devices; do note the deprecation of automatic approval for all devices.

🚀 Staged rollouts in Microsoft Intune just got released in public preview!
If you've ever had to manage multi-phase app or policy deployments by manually swapping Entra groups or building custom PowerShell automation, Deployment Plans in Microsoft Intune is a massive quality-of-life upgrade.
Instead of all-or-nothing rollouts or manual babysitting, Intune now gives us built-in orchestration to roll out payloads (apps & configuration policies) across staged rings.
Here are 3 reasons why this new feature is a game-changer:
1️⃣ Standardized, Reusable Rollout Templates
No more reinventing the wheel for every application or policy update. With Deployment Plans, you can define your organization's approved rollout pattern once (e.g., Pilot → Early Adopters → Broad → All Devices) with preset deferral intervals (hours/days). When you're ready to deploy, you just attach the payload to your plan.
2️⃣ Cumulative Phased Rings (With Virtual Group Smarts)
Each ring safely expands targeting cumulatively over time. Even better: if your final ring targets virtual groups like All Devices or All Users, Intune automatically handles the transition—clearing previous staging assignments and rolling up the deployment cleanly into a broad assignment.
3️⃣ Full Control with Pause, Resume & Collision Detection
Things don’t always go according to plan, and safety nets are essential. Active deployments can be paused, resumed, or cancelled on the fly. Plus, built-in assignment collision detection prevents conflicts before a ring activates, protecting production environments from accidental dual-targeting or configuration drift.
Native ring-based deployments have been on the community wishlist for a long time, and bringing this directly into the Intune Admin Center is a huge step forward for safer change management.

Microsoft just removed wmic.exe from Windows 11. Not disabled - gone. Old scripts calling it (batch files, GPO logon scripts, ConfigMgr task sequences) will fail with zero warning. 🧵

Under the hood of Microsoft’s Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR).
In this blog, I am explaining how Microsoft can silently enable Windows features in stages... remotely using CFR
This also explains some of the weird behavior we sometimes see during Autopilot.

Microsoft just announced system-level network configuration support for Intune Endpoint Privilege Management.
That means standard users can change things like IP address, gateway, and DNS settings without being a local admin.
That part is already interesting. But while looking at the latest EPM agent bits, I noticed something else besides it.
Time Sync!!!
Inside EpmElevate.exe, it looks like Microsoft is also going to add something to sync and change the time zone?
I wrote down what I found in the client-side pieces, what Microsoft has now announced, and how it's going to work

In 1998, Microsoft demoed Windows 98 live on stage.
They plugged in a scanner to show off USB support.
The computer immediately blue-screened in front of Bill Gates.
He just smiled and said: “That must be why we’re not shipping Windows 98 yet.”

Microsoft has shared an update on their promise from March 2026 to make Windows 11 faster, more reliable, and easier to use.
Many of these changes are now in test versions for early users and will reach everyone over time.
Here is a complete list of new and improved features delivered since March:
>The Windows Insider Program is now simpler with two main channels: Experimental and Beta.
It is clearer what each does, and you can switch or leave channels more easily without reinstalling Windows.
>Windows Update is easier to control.
-All updates now use one restart per month for the system, drivers, and other parts.
-You can skip updates during initial setup, pause them in 35-day steps, and the power menu always shows normal Restart and Shut Down options without forcing updates.
>Copilot and AI features are less pushy. -The “Ask Copilot” buttons were removed from Snipping Tool and Photos.
-In Notepad, the button now says “Writing Tools” instead of using a generic Copilot icon.
>File Explorer is more reliable and faster with fewer freezes, smoother opening and navigation, fewer sudden changes in the Home view, sharper thumbnails, and better dark mode support with less white flashing.
>Widgets and the Discover news feed are calmer and less distracting with fewer notifications and badges.
-The news feed is off by default and does not pop up.
-On the lock screen, Widgets show only the Weather tile by default. It also uses less memory.
>The system performs better overall, saving memory in many areas
The Start menu, Search, Action Center, and other tasks feel faster and more responsive.
More changes like taskbar options and Start menu tweaks are planned soon.
You can try the latest features early by joining the Windows Insider Program and selecting the Experimental channel.
