The questions to ask before an AI agent touches your TMS: goaugment.com/blog/the-quest…
Every TMS integration balances time to value against depth of access. A flat file puts an AI agent to work fast. A custom build gives it write access. The right path depends on what you want the agent to handle first.

I sat down with @habbott , Cofounder and CEO of Augment to talk about the business of logistics and how AI can possibly reshape it. He previously cofounded Deliverr, which @Shopify acquired for $2.5 billion, and spent part of his early career at Amazon. He is now building AI teammates for the people who keep goods moving. Augment has raised over $110m to date from @8vc, @Redpoint, Shopify and others.
Every product we use depends on businesses coordinating behind the scenes. A shipment moves because someone calls a carrier, confirms an appointment, checks inventory, or follows up on an email. Those small interactions add up to an enormous amount of work.
One detail from our conversation stayed with me: Harish and his cofounder spent their first 60 days on the road, shadowing customers, before writing a single line of code. Understanding an operator’s day, the interruptions, relationships, and problems that follow them home shaped what they chose to build.
We discuss the opportunity for AI in logistics and what it takes to earn a place inside a customer’s business. We also get into fundraising, the Shopify acquisition, storytelling, and why Harish puts so much weight on curiosity and a willingness to act when hiring.
What we cover:
- The coordination tax: why moving everyday goods requires so many calls, emails, and decisions and where AI can help.
- AI as a teammate: how humans and software share information, divide responsibilities, and build trust.
- Learning the customer’s world: why Harish starts with observation and a single painful task before expanding.
- From customers to capital: building before fundraising, explaining your business through customer stories, and the path to Deliverr’s acquisition.
- Building a team that keeps improving: rewarding impact, learning quickly from failure, and adapting Amazon’s bar raiser approach.

The Toronto office met up and declared themselves the fittest office in North America. Push-up competition to settle it: pending 🇨🇦
Our AI teammate Augie automates manual work for @zengistics from order to cash, across 16 live workflows and counting.

With Augie's Customer Service workflow, carriers and fleets stop digging through inboxes, TMS notes, and spreadsheets for every status check and get back to serving customers.

We shipped five new carrier workflows last quarter, from order entry to capacity and demand matching, and released a custom workflow builder that turns a plain-English description into a ready-to-run workflow. hubs.la/Q04z2TFh0
We shipped six new broker workflows last quarter, from carrier capacity to invoice audit, and released a custom workflow builder alongside them. On last month's Just Shipped webinar, the team built and launched a new workflow in under three minutes. hubs.la/Q04z2Rjh0
Carriers don't always send a location. They send a link.
Augie now opens the ELD share link, reads the truck's position, and posts the transit update to the TMS. No rep in the loop.
Link opened 7:05. Update posted 7:06.

Our New York office is officially open. 🗽 First order of business: happy hour. Freight never sleeps, and apparently neither does this city, so it should work out.
Adding customers to the Augment portal now takes seconds.
Search, create, edit, bulk upload, and map linked facilities—all in one place. The records your team maintains are the same ones Augie uses to build loads and enter orders. hubs.la/Q04yk1r90
Nobody in your dispatch office took the job to retype BOLs into the TMS. Our AI teammate Augie reads the BOL and builds the order. Register to see our latest carrier workflows demoed live today at 3 pm ET. hubs.la/Q04xYPBJ0
An AI agent that reads your TMS reports on your business. An AI agent that writes to your TMS acts on your business.
In our blog, we outline the menu of integration paths to get there, plus 14 questions to ask an AI vendor before you grant write access. hubs.la/Q04y79_50

We were named to this year's FreightTech 100 from a record number of submissions.
In the past year, we expanded into wholesale distribution and doubled our aggregate customer revenue under management. And we're not planning to slow down any time soon.
Somebody on your team is checking an invoice against the rate con right now. Augie takes a lot of that work off the desk. Register to see our latest brokerage workflows demoed live tomorrow at 3:30 pm ET. hubs.la/Q04xYHvG0
This week we met with customers, partners, industry peers, and potential new recruits (!) at 5 different events across 2 countries to talk about the agentic AI opportunity in supply chain. If you missed us this week, don't worry—you'll see us at more events soon 😌
This Driver Appreciation Week, we wanted to talk about how we can improve the driver experience all year long.
