Last week I got to talk about my game/art project on @joindiveclub Radio!!!
It was my first time filming myself, but I'm inspired to continue the practice w/ a weekly dev diary.
More soon!
Follow me for pessimistic takes on technology, art, and design, and optimistic takes on technology, art, and design.
Since a lot of people are getting into gamedev, I put together a small guide on how I made the jump in Tether feel great.
It's not new tech nor industry secrets, but I hope you see something interesting that might help your next project - 2D platformer or not

I know we're cooked because 20% of content is about content.
Here, linkedin, ig, no matter. Content is the ultimate buzzword. Keyword?
These days it goes by new media, but also slop. Or brainrot when flirting with honesty.
And they think this will last forever lol
It's so weird that my online persona is edgier or whatever than me irl. Didn't used to be like that.
It's bc my online persona spends so much time in this crazyass place made of pure gaslight.
Here are some pixels I made called 'tears'. Sums up the feeling.

"Netflix and Prime Video are competing directly against an almost infinite supply of creator led entertainment."
What do you call a commoditized commodity?
With the launch of long form video on Instagram, we鈥檙e watching the convergence of social media, the creator economy, and trad entertainment.
Here鈥檚 my thinking on the future of it:
YouTube has become the dominant creator led entertainment platform. It started with long-form video and successfully incorporated short form without compromising its core identity. It鈥檚 entertainment first.
IG is evolving into an all in one creator destination. Its advantage isn鈥檛 necessarily being the best at long-form video, but being the place where audiences can discover a creator, follow their life, consume their content, and engage with their community across formats. It鈥檚 social-first.
Now, traditional streaming platforms are facing a different kind of competition. Netflix and Prime Video are competing directly against an almost infinite supply of creator led entertainment, powered by platforms that don鈥檛 have to finance every show themselves. They鈥檙e content-first.
YouTube became an entertainment platform. Instagram is becoming an entertainment ecosystem. And traditional entertainment companies are now competing with both
Hot? Take?
Ig TV will backfire.
1) Meta absolutely sucks at product. Truly, name one good thing they made that wasn't stolen or acquired. Or include that criteria. You can't.
2) Sure, there's good stuff on IG now, but the ratio is very, very bad and that's not counting ads. Short form distribution is somewhat dependable bc of scrolling but that doesn't translate to long form. The incentives will lead to slop. Even if the quality bar stays still (it won't, long form hard), this will not be an attractive platform for audiences.
Idk about you but the thought of installing ig on my tv makes me want to yeet it off the Williamsburg bridge
