For the first time in Solana history, we can generate Solana programs directly from upstream rustc and LLVM! Starting with sbpf-linker 0.2.3, you can compile a no_std Solana program with just cargo +nightly build, and voilà! ✨ Anything that doesn't work should be considered a bug, and I'll fix it! I've chewed through all the compiler and assembly glass so you don't have to. The only thing left for you is to learn Rust properly. Below is a quick guide to .cargo/config.toml 101 and Solana libcalls

LLMs in code; about 18 months ago I was firmly on the "artisanal hand-written code" side of things; I'm very much a convert now - the code was never the goal: solving tech problems was. Most of my time now goes into designing features and correctness tests, which is far more (1)

llama.cpp just got faster on SpacemiT K3 Pico-ITX with RISC-V IME2. @Houge_Langley has published a full hands-on build record showing how to build and run the IME2-enabled llama.cpp stack on Ubuntu 26.04, GCC 17, and patched Binutils. In the developer’s demo setup, the IME2-enabled run shows around +10 tokens/s improvement over the non-IME2 run. The guide covers the full path from toolchain setup and Binutils patches to llama.cpp build, llama-server deployment, and runtime validation. Huge thanks to @Houge_Langley for documenting the process and sharing the demo with the community. Video demo below. Full guide: publish.obsidian.md/hougelan… Upstream PR: github.com/ggml-org/llama.cp… #SpacemiT #K3 #RISCV #llama.cpp

This is a governance attack. This passed on a technicality despite the fact a majority of MEPs voted against it. They intentionally put it up on the last day of parliament knowing that people would be on holiday and it would pass because not enough people turned out. They literally attacked the frailties of their own governance system. If you needed any further proof that these mass surveillance measures are undemocratic and authoritarian, this is it. They want this so much they're willing to undermine basic democratic legitimacy to get it. Deeply sinister and foolish. Whatever this parliament does from now on, is a joke. They will just vote on policies that incrementally destroy civil liberties until they pass on technicalities. The UK have just given themselves the powers to do this, so they don't even need to vote on it. Genuinely think we could be seeing the last days of democracy here.
JUST IN: 🇪🇺 European Parliament passes Chat Control proposal allowing private messages to be monitored.

Big Solana news: The Light Protocol team is joining Helius to help build Solana's most complete ZK privacy layer. Private payments, markets, and finance -- at Solana scale. Fully composable, fully onchain, fully open-source.

Excited to join @HeliusPrivacy to grow the Solana Privacy Protocol. After years of building ZK and scaling infrastructure on Solana, we're ready to close the gap standing between crypto and mainstream adoption. We'll make privacy accessible on Solana through simple APIs for internet finance and capital markets.

Very excited to join Helius as Head of Privacy. Since 2021 we solved the core building blocks of onchain privacy: single-tx ZK verification, and cheap scalable nullifier storage. At Helius we will fuse them into the most scalable programmable privacy protocol directly on Solana

1/ It’s a new year and a new Anza. I’ve stepped into the CEO role at the start of what is sure to be an exhilarating 2026. Let’s look at what Anza is cooking

wincode v0.2.3 released - comprehensive zero-copy support - derive macros will automatically mark your derived types as zero-copy eligible at compile time if they meet the criteria (more in docs) you may now replace bytemuck and zerocopy with wincode github.com/anza-xyz/wincode/…

If Bill Gates was alive, he would be proud to see Rust finally being integrated into the Linux Kernel. Imagine seeing the project you created getting this far.

Once tx v1 and BLS syscall (with G2 group ops) are there, zolana can actually happen

3/ The new format supports transactions up to 4KB vs ~1.2KB supported in v0. Each instruction header is just 4 bytes specifying program index, account count, and data size. This compact encoding improves parsing speed and consistency for validators.

Okay, so here's all the problems that people seem to be having with Zcash: - core contributor is trans (okay?) - Mossad backdoored it because one of the co-creators of Zerocash is Israeli (following that logic, every zero-knowledge proof construction ever created is backdoored by Mossad because Shafi Goldwasser co-invented zero-knowledge proofs) - NSA backdoored it because DARPA provided funding for the research (by that logic, SHA-2 and SHA-3 are also backdoored by NSA + Zcash has had two different iterations of shielded pools since then) - not used for illicit activities (Tornado Cash, which is essentially Zcash with a smart contract attached to it, has) - not delisted from all U.S.-based exchanges unlike Monero (Monero is not delisted from all U.S.-based exchanges either) - the founders own the "decryption keys" (the trusted setup is only necessary for Sprout and Sapling, Orchard is Halo 2-based, which doesn't require a trusted setup)

It's hilarious how haters don't realize that Rust, the majority of cryptography libraries and even Bitcoin have trans core devs. It's not only Zcash.
People will watch this Zcash video, see the massive jail sentences for zk-protocol founders, see the price go up 20x in the past months and still think “let’s buy some $ZEC ”. What could possibly go wrong, right?

Daira-Emma is a *great* dev. Co-author of many excellent ideas and many more to come. And ze’s a lovely and sincere person who I’ve had the pleasure to know and collaborate with for I think about 20 years now. It’s good for freedom that ze’s a Zcasher.

We've just pushed down the time spent on epoch activation again, this time from ~519ms to ~337ms. That was the biggest bottleneck there and the main reason behind empty slots. There are still more optimizations being cooked there, so stay tuned. github.com/anza-xyz/agave/pu…

One of the better signals for how far crypto has moved on from it's cypherpunk ideals is the rampant amount of anti-trans, anti-queer and similar rhetoric A space defined, in its origin, by its resistance to institutional power structures and the concepts of self-sovereign identity through pseudonymity, autonomy and privacy. It is no surprise that not only are these groups well represented in the space, but directly contributed to it The cypherpunks, punkrockers and hippies had the right idea You're not anti-establishment, you dislike taxes
"Privacy allows people to think freely. There's the space inside your head where you can basically think whatever you want and be fairly confident that no one is reading your mind. You can reason about the world and reason about what should happen in the world. @feministPLT #zcash $ZEC #privacyisnormal
