Today, I learned that a bloaty lithium-ion battery smells like organic solvent... I was going crazy this week looking for the organic solvent that was following me around this last week...

We're hiring for the Julia Runtime and Compiler team. If you know someone who's strong in systems or compilers, please send them our way. It's a very fun piece of tech to work on and you get to support important scientific applications. juliahub.com/company/jobs?jo…

I have two job adverts open at the minute: - A PhD position on fast MLIPs for biomolecules (www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/stude…) - A postdoc position on developing a universal molecular mechanics force field (nature.com/naturecareers/job…) Feel free to get in touch with questions.

Something we are doing terribly wrong in the #HPC community is having many of our major conference presentations and talks behind paywalls or not recorded at all. The hiding or complete loss of (now) decades of learning, knowledge, and history is something to mourn. 😞

For students applying to PhD programs this cycle: I am recruiting! I do research on parallel programming, compilers, run-time systems, and parallel algorithms. My main focus is making it simpler and safer to write efficient, scalable, and correct parallel code.
