Protests and boycotts are part of being an American. But demanding stores be closed down - or cutting business ties with them - simply because the owners are Jewish is economic ethnic intimidation. We cannot tolerate the intolerable. #lovethyneighbor

My Administration has been in touch with local officials in Philadelphia ahead of the planned protest on Sunday that’s designed to intimidate and drive Jewish businesses out of our communities. Hate and antisemitism have no place in our Commonwealth. And I’m grateful to state and local law enforcement who will work to make sure our neighborhoods remain safe this weekend. cnn.com/2026/11/05/us/philad…

I am disturbed by reports that businesses in Philadelphia are being targeted for boycotts because they have Jewish owners. We are guaranteed the right to peaceful protest and to freedom of speech. It is fundamental to who we are as Americans. That includes the freedom to oppose the war in Gaza, and the actions of the Netanyahu government. Yet we must speak clearly when confronted with blatant antisemitism. Targeting businesses simply because they are owned by Jews — and on the eve of Kristallnacht, when Nazis terrorized Jewish families, businesses and synagogues — is unacceptable. I believe protesting in this way is harmful and misguided, and I urge the organizers to desist.

For 8 years I investigated hate crimes @ Philly’s Human Relations Commission, so I know what hate looks like. Anyone targeting/calling for the closure of a Philly small biz owned by our Jewish neighbors is engaging in ethnic intimidation. This boycott ride is WRONG.

Another excellent classical apartment building coming to NYC soon courtesy of Peter Pennoyer Architects. New York developers have noticed demand for classical buildings is insatiable. When will London developers reach this realisation?

Can confirm. There’s condos and Sprouts being built all over town. Philly is highly underrated esp given the price, it’s like Brooklyn circa ‘96 inflation-wise and hipster-wise.
Gen Zers are fleeing NYC faster than any other US metro - flocking to a city just 90 miles away trib.al/DOGWSre

Mayor Parker was at the Art Museum last night for the Midnight Run. (She may have gotten booed)… The run went down the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and around Logan Circle and back. It was an amazing event. But now let’s talk about the homeless situation on the Parkway. Last night, the Parkway was shut down and there were at least 50 homeless people sleeping on the streets. One even had a tent. It is out of control. Especially around Logan Circle. At least 100 homeless people from City Hall to the Art Museum. Do we really want the first thing that people visiting the Franklin Institute seeing is 50 homeless people in the park? Is giving out food in LOVE Park at 6pm on a Wednesday what we want visitors to the City to see and deal with? That cannot become the new normal. We need compassion. We need services. We need treatment, housing, and support for people who are struggling. But compassion does not mean accepting a situation where some of our city’s public spaces have effectively become outdoor shelters. We need the State to step up and help solve this problem. All 67 counties in PA need to be a part of the solution because homelessness doesn’t stop at city boundaries. But we CANNOT have our elected officials just standby and do nothing. We cannot ignore this problem. City Councilmember Jay Young said that he wasn’t going to criminalize homelessness. I agree that homelessness should not be criminalized. But that does not mean we accept the status quo. If Philadelphia wants to attract businesses, create jobs, grow our tax base, and become a city of 2 million people… we need to continue to make Philadelphia a better place to live… for everyone. We can do both: help people in need while also protecting our public spaces.

Lindsay Graham’s story ended bad because of his own doing. There is absolutely no one else responsible for an ending that is so morally bankrupt. And that’s the real tragedy.
