Thanks so much @MFBALA and all my colleagues at AMFI for acknowledging me and my team's contribution to the MF industry, especially the ETF segment. It's a very nice gesture indeed...

With due respect, anyone who has seen more than 2 cycles in the market can answer this question...
A distributor is not an advisor. The MF industry is so beholden to distributors that it would prefer the regulator to not make any change. Can Mr Sachdeva tell us why does the distributor capture more than 50% of the “value”? No wonder most funds underperform

Even after so many years, the "value" of the distribution and advice keeps getting undermined by a factor of "price" We are setting up millions of investor on a collision course with their goals the next time a serious correction happens....you need an advios to hand hold you through a crisis...else, people will just walk away from the discipline of investing long term
#MutualFunds #SEBI #MFD #FinancialLiteracy #InvestorAwareness moneycontrol.com/news/busine…

As India’s VDA industry evolves, consistent guidelines, strong compliance practices and effective safeguards will be essential to building trust and enabling responsible growth. With this objective at it’s core, the Bharat Web3 Association (BWA) has established a Self-Regulatory Body (SRB) to strengthen industry practices, ensure consistent adherence and promote greater accountability among its members BWA is privileged to have Shri Rohit Kumar Singh IAS (retd.), former Secretary to the Government of India, and Dr. Praggya Das, former Adviser-in-Charge of the Monetary Policy Department at the RBI, as SRB Chairperson and Member respectively. This is only a beginning, but an important step in BWA’s commitment to developing a responsible, compliant and sustainable VDA sector in India.

Indians are sending more money abroad for one reason: to invest. RBI's October bulletin has the August LRS numbers. Remittances for investing in overseas equity and debt were $321.5 million, up 111% from $152.2 million a year ago. At RBI's reference rate of ₹95.56 to the dollar, that is about ₹3,073 crore in one month. To compare that with something familiar: SIP inflows into Indian mutual funds were ₹32,297 crore in August. So for every ₹10 that went into SIPs, about ₹1 left the country to be invested abroad. A year ago it was closer to 50 paise. Nothing else Indians send abroad grew like this. Travel, the biggest head, was $1.63 billion, the same as last August. Gifts, deposits, property and money for relatives barely moved. Take out investments, and LRS outflows fell 3%. This happened while sending money abroad has become more expensive. Remittances above ₹10 lakh a year attract 20% TCS, and the rupee is past 95. Neither has slowed it. August was not even the peak. June saw $456.7 million. Last financial year, Indians sent $2.65 billion abroad to invest. April to August this year is already at $1.73 billion. Sources: RBI Bulletin, October 2026. AMFI. Business Standard.

🚨 DON’T IGNORE THE BOND MARKET. IT MAY BE FLASHING A WARNING. The US 10-year Treasury yield slipping below 5% could be signalling something important. Against a backdrop of rising crude prices and inflationary pressures, markets are grappling with a dangerous combination: higher inflation, higher-for-longer rates, and rising recession risks. The AI-heavy markets, which thrived on liquidity and growth expectations, are cracking under the pressure of tighter financial conditions. Yet, Treasury yields are softening. Why? A flight to safety may be overpowering inflation fears as investors begin pricing in a global slowdown. Remember, around 18 months ago, the inverted US yield curve was flashing a recession warning, with the risk expected to materialise over the following 18–24 months. That window is now approaching its end. Is the long-awaited economic slowdown finally catching up with markets? Equity investors tend to focus on earnings and valuations. But bond markets often signal changes in economic expectations much earlier. Watch the debt markets. They may tell you what equity markets haven't priced in yet. #BondMarkets #US10YearYield #RecessionRisk #GlobalMacro #Investing

Excellent storytelling by Shaun Pollock on team meetings and how it doesn't always help... Perhaps why MS Dhoni didn't believe much in them and at max had a minute or so before games! Also, notice the quality of commentary here compared to what Indians are fed with! 🙏@abcsport

1/3 🧵 What is the PHP crisis? Imagine millions of shops use the same type of door lock. Suddenly, someone discovers a weakness that may let thieves enter without a key. PHP is software used by many websites. A flaw in it could allow hackers to attack vulnerable websites.

I’ve never seen Prashant Jain being so optimistic. Some of his views on Megacap stocks trading at cheap valuations: “Some of these businesses I’m owning for the first time in last 25 years because they were so expensive all around.” “What happened in last few years, some of most popular and best quality businesses have mean reverted.” “You pay a 70PE for a business growing at 10% and then it falls to 30PE and then you curse the business.” “These are some of the finest businesses, and they’re now at extremely attractive valuations.” However, I personally feel the question lies not in valuations but in the growth which is a far bigger worry. nitter.gq/bigbullinvest/status/2…

they’re calling it “Black October” and i don’t think people realize how serious this is in the last 48 hours there have been over 27 major cybersecurity incidents. not in a month. not in a week. in 48 hours any ONE of these would normally be the biggest story of the year PHP: critical vulnerability in the software running 80% of the web. severity 9.2 out of 10 Node.js: high-severity flaw letting attackers take over servers remotely. affects versions 22, 24, and 26 Java: also compromised. three of the most used programming languages on earth hit at the same time GitLab: a perfect 10 out of 10 severity hole in every version since 2014 Railway: hosting platform compromised. API keys for OpenAI, Claude, Stripe potentially exposed Signal: a bug that could leave your mic and camera on after you hang up WordPress: hackers stole a plugin maker’s keys and planted backdoors on websites LiteLLM: an AI tool downloaded 3.4 million times a day was poisoned with a password stealer and that’s not even half the list thousands of AI agent swarms are reportedly scanning and attacking vulnerable servers right now. automated. around the clock security researchers are saying this might be the early stages of a global cyber incident that nobody fully understands yet if you run a website, use cloud services, store API keys on hosting platforms, or use any software built on PHP, Node.js, or Java you are potentially affected update everything. rotate your API keys. change your passwords on critical services. enable 2FA everywhere you haven’t already this is not a normal week on the internet. this is something different

Every Indian needs to know about this because it is a massive deal for how we trust anything on the internet. Let me explain. When you open your bank's website, there's a small padlock next to the web address. That padlock means two things. First, that you're talking to your real bank. And second that nobody can read what you type, like your password. So how does your browser know the website is real? It checks the website's certificate. Think of it like an ID card for a website. Your Aadhaar is trusted because the government issued it. A website's ID card is trusted because a certificate authority issued it. A certificate authority, or CA, is a company that browsers like Chrome, Firefox and Safari already trust. If a CA says "yes, this really is this bank's website," your browser believes it and shows the padlock. eMudhra is an Indian CA. It's a big one, with more than 60 million certificates issued over the years. So how does a CA sign these ID cards? Every CA has a secret number called a private key. It uses that number to put a stamp on each certificate. Your browser checks the stamp to confirm it really came from that CA. The whole system only works if that number is impossible to guess. For the type of key in this story, it's supposed to be around 116 digits long. Every computer on Earth working together for billions of years wouldn't be able to guess a number like that, just because of the sheer combinations that exist. But here's what happened. On October 17, Mozilla got a report that the private keys behind eight eMudhra certificates had been compromised. The report came through a person called Wayne on Google's Chrome team. The keys weren't 116 digits long. All eight keys were smaller than 256. Security researcher Scott Helme found that one of them was just the number 4. Others were 66, 155, 156, 230 and 237. So anyone could break them by trying 256 numbers. A basic laptop does that in less than a second. Mozilla didn't need to know how Wayne did it. Its own team recovered the keys within two hours. Since then, several other people have found them on their own too. To understand the gravity of the problem, a bad actor could make fake ID cards for any website they want. Your bank, your email, a government portal. Browsers that trusted eMudhra would have checked the fake stamp and shown the padlock like everything was fine. If someone could get between you and the internet, say on public Wi-Fi, they could show you a fake site with a real-looking padlock and read or change what you send. eMudhra says a script used during its key creation process back in April 2025 had a flaw. It made a second, much weaker set of keys, and those were used by mistake to create the certificates. That means these weak keys were there for about a year and a half before anyone caught it. eMudhra says the person who found it may have used AI-assisted techniques. The good news is that the response was fast. Mozilla received the report at 8:06 pm UTC on October 17 and had pushed a block to Firefox users by 10:59 pm. Google, Apple and Microsoft have also blocked these certificates for their users. eMudhra revoked all eight the next morning and stopped issuing new certificates from the affected root. Mozilla is now removing that root certificate from Firefox's trusted list altogether. But there's still a lot of clean-up to do. Browsers are mostly covered. But plenty of apps, servers and backend systems don't check these block lists. They need software updates to stop trusting the bad certificates, and some of those updates are still pending. Real websites that used eMudhra are also affected. Yash Kadakia, founder of Security Brigade, estimates around 30,000 legitimate certificates will need to be moved over. A lot of those are likely Indian businesses and services. See, we're moving our whole lives online, UPI, banking, tax filing, DigiLocker, government services. All of it rests on this invisible layer of trust. So, when an Indian company that's trusted by every major browser makes a mistake this basic, it hurts how the world sees Indian digital infrastructure. This has happened before, and it went very badly. In 2011, a Dutch CA called DigiNotar was hacked, and fake Google certificates were used to spy on people in Iran. Browsers stopped trusting it completely, and the company shut down soon after. For now, here's what you can do. Keep your browser and apps updated on your phone and laptop. Be careful on public Wi-Fi. Type your bank's website address yourself instead of clicking links. eMudhra still owes India a clear, public explanation of how a key that protects millions of people ended up being the number 4.
‼️ BREAKING: The private keys of 8 certificates from Indian certificate authority eMudhra were compromised, Mozilla says. Firefox blocked them within 3 hours. Each key should be a 116-digit number, but one was just 4. Anyone can guess them and forge HTTPS certs for any website.
